Vehicle Detail
I have a 1977 Rock crawling Scout. I am going to be as detailed as possible with this vehicle so please read and view pics carefully. It was painted approximately 1 year ago with a flat green paint you see in the pics. It also has rhino lined rockers and a stripe on the hood. I was told when i bought it a year ago it had been in the jeep Jamboree approximately 4 times. I finished up the body work and drove it all summer last year and it was fun. It has a full roll cage built off existing it has been geared with and please dont quote me 456's not sure but it does get up and go. It also has a full time locker in the rear unsure of the brad. I confirmed this when taking a turn the tires chirp. The fenders have been cut, it has rock slider rocker panels please see pics. It has an electric fan and an electric fuel pump that are powered by toggle switches in the cab. It has approximately 6" of lift and currently runs 35" tire which are worn, possibly could fit up to 38". Both front and rear axles have Warn rock diff covers and in the back i have and extra drive line and steering rod in-case of trail failure with new u joints. I also have a large folder with receipts of things done on this scout. THE BAD The reason im getting rid of this Scout is my son is 15 1/2 with a learners permit. It was meant to go to him and we worked on it together. This winter we had it parked outside. I came out one day and witnessed antifreeze dripping from the engine. That weekend I checked all fluids and filled back up the radiator and found out a freeze plug had come out in the rear of engine behind tranny. I was mad and have left it parked ever since. When we drove it last summer the radiator had a small leak that we had to fill once a week, unsure if this had anything to do with the freeze plug problem. I lo had to flush it several times due to dirty radiator fluid. It does have rust in the common spots, holes in floor panels and in the back spare tire area and on the body mounts. I tried to take as many pis as possible, see pics for details. It is lo perfect nor is it ready for the scrap yard. These are hard to find and are becoming more and more popular with off road guys due to the durable indestructibly body's and frames..Here is a list of things the scout currently needs/possible problems: -Needs tires -Does have rust -Freeze plug needs to be fixed -Radiator has small leak -Carb needs adjusted possibly replaced, ran rich last summer. -Tranny kick down adjusted. -It needs a top. I only have the bikini top for it. -It needs the starter syloniod replaced -Needs a new battery possibly had to jump it last time it was started. Im sure im forgetting something so please if your in the area come see it in person. I will not ship this item...That is up to winning bidder. This scout starts but does not hold antifreeze so it cant run for over a min or two. A $500 non refundable deposit will be requested directly after auction, and please don't bid if you don't intend to buy.....Ebay is a binding contract, I will accept paypal for deposit but rest of money will be done by west--- Uni--, bank transfer or the best way in person......My reserve is set at 1,200 basically I'm not making any money at all just trying to help my son find something else I have a lot of money tied up on this thing way more then reserve and I hate not knowing the reserve of something so bid to win. Im only asking what i have in the vehicle. Thank you for looking and please ask question. If I think of anything else good or bad i will update add...Happy bidding. I mentioned it needed starter solenoid-clarified sometimes when you crank it over. All the sudden it will stop cranking i kept a hammer in the scout and when I ran into this issue would tap on the starter solenoid area and it would crank over again.... Like I said I will continue to update as I think of things. It does have a spare tire. It is also a 35" tire on a aluminum rim Posted with the eBay Android app
