Vehicle Detail

1966 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE 289 V8 ENGINE++AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION POWER CONVERTIBLE TOP THAT IS GOOD. RUNS, DRIVES, STOPS GOOD and THINGS WORK VIN 6F08C739709 MILEAGE 86,959 reading on the odometer, we cannot document the milage. THE WAY I SEE THIS CAR as a old mechanic/car restirer: Its a very nice driver quality car, it looks good, it drives good and things work. Its not a perfect show car with a $15,000 paint job, if you look for a little defect you can find one, but it looks real good. HISTORY: All I can tell you is that the car is a Georgia car. The title is Georgia and the title states previous state of registration was Geogria. TITLE: Clear Georgia title in hand with a VIN that matches the car VIN. The title is signed of correctly. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? No real rust problems, no rusty holes and the underside has no rust issues in the frame or floors. The bottom of a couple of floor pans have been patched, I showed a close up in my pictures. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a classic car restorer, but when I find a vehicle I like and can sell for a fair market price, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: The paint is nice, but not a $15,000 show car paint job. It has no rust, no big dents and it has a good shine. The paint will satisfy most people, its not a perfect roll out of the trailer show car paint job, but it is plenty good enough to enter a local car show. The car has no dents, it does have some very tiny dings and acouple of small ripples that are too small to show up in the pictures. The car was originally white and has been painted candy apple Mustang red, the trunk and door jambs were painted and its very hard to tell it was factory white. The paint is the kind that came on the car, it was very dull when we got it, we buffed and waxed it, this is not modern clear coat paint, you have to wax it. CONVERTIBLE TOP IS GOOD, it is power operated, the plastic back window is clear. CHROME: All the chrome is good, but not new. INTEROR: The interior is nice, but not new. UNSERSIDE: No rust problem, the frame members look good, it not detailed and painted shinny. The bottoms of the lowest part of the rear floor pans where you put your feet have been patched. GLASS: Clear with no milkey spots and no cracks, the windshield looks good with a very minor wiper mark on the lower drivers side, the side windows roll up and down very good. SOUND SYSTEM: Its original AM radio and works. ENGINE: Sweet running small block 289 cubic inch, that I think is original, new hoses, new radiator. It will leave some drops of oil on the floor when parked, its not bad enought to worry about. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Used condition, its single and has some life leaf, but may be the first thing you do to the car. I did not put a new one on because people have a lot of different taste in exhaust system, everything from factory quite to dual glass packs. TRANSMISSION: 3 speed automatic, that shifts good, this is called a C4 transmission. REAR-END: Original and is in good condition with no whines or growls. BRAKES: Brakes stop good, they are drums all around and not power. STEERING: The steering linkage is good, the car drives very good, it is not power steering. WHEELS AND TIRES : Tires look new and are mounted on Ford Style Steel optional wheels. LIGHTS and wiring: They all work and the wiring is good! . HORN WORKs! WIPERs work! ! THE GAS GAUGE WORKS! Speedometer is working. Heater blower works! GUAGES: Amp gauge works, fuel gauge works, temp works. HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? I think they open and close good! DEFECTS AND PROBLEMS: These are just what I remember off the top of my head! 1. Paint just good drive and enjoy quality, but not show car roll out of the trailer quality. THE GOOD STUFF: The car looks great, the car drives great, you don't have to do a thing unless you want to. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just too hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the vehicle, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell telephone number is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. Ron Watson cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville and 50 miles north of Chattanooga. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee “I am truly qualified to be called a Hill Billy”. I am 65 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 39. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 42 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! TRANSPORT: EBAY MOTORS gives 3 instant transport quotes if you click on the link on my listing. US OR EXPORT “the best”: Classic Car Transport, LLC: This is a very good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas with the white glove treatment. They are located in Kansas City. Call Bill at 913-749-0930 Email billc@classiccartransport.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. I will take paypal for the deposit, but not for full payment. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. And its safe for both of us. WILL I HOLD THE CAR UNTIL YOU GET HERE TO LOOK OR HAVE IT INSPECTED? Not without a $250 non-refundable deposit! I have held too many cars that people promise me they are going to buy and they never show up, their wife won’t let them buy it, they can’t get a loan or they just back out. Before you drive or fly a long distance you need to make sure the car is not sold. “The way I look at it is until you pay a deposit you’re just looking and dreaming”. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! BOTTOM LINE: My firm price is $19,850 and I am asking $21,850 on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com I am very careful about taking payment, I have had a fake certified check, it looked real and the buyer seemed real. I will take one, but I will check you out. I am ebay varified, that means you can buy ebays buyer protection plan and they will guarantee thats I'm real, they will not guarantee the car.
