Vehicle Detail

1979 Pro Street El Camino FOR SALE I am selling my 1979 El Camino. I bought this car to fix and drive this summer. I have spent of TON of money on it after I bought it and now obligations have changed. Of course after I finish it, the wife and I have our eye on something else now... This car can be driven on the street or raced. It was built to do either. I have a clear title and it is turn-key and ready to go. INTERIOR: It has several gauges inside to keep track of what is going on. It has a 5 inch tach, as well as an oil pressure and water temp gauges. It also has an Autometer liquid filled fuel pressure gauge mounted on the hood. It has a nice Alpine CD stereo system with a detachable face. I never got around to buying and putting the speakers in behind the seats though. It has a nice B&M Pro Stick shifter with a safety neutral switch in place and a line lock button on the shifter itself. All the windows roll up and down nicely, vents work great, heater/defroster works great and heater fan blows as it should. It has as full roll cage with a swing out bar on the drivers side for easy entrance and exit. Again, all the gauges work. The headlights, turn signals, parking lights, windshield wipers, speedometer, etc etc, etc, ALL WORK! EVEN The HEAT and DEFROSTERS work great and blow hot for those cold nights going to a car show. This car was originally a 4-SPEED car and it still has the clutch pedal in the floor in case you want to go that route. EXTERIOR: The car has 15x3 Centerline Convo Pro front wheels with Goodyear front runners and 15x15 Centerline Convo Pros on the back with a Hoosier 16x33 tire. It has 4-WHEEL power disc brakes that work great and stop the car with no problem. I have BRAND NEW Ed Quay Aluminum wing that I never installed. It also has set of chrome wheelie bars that are like new. I had them on the car, took them off and never put them back on. You can bolt them back on with a few bolts I will include with the sale. It has power steering, but I took off the pump because I was going to get new hoses and havent put it back on yet... pump and brackets will go with the sale. The steering box has been plugged in case you choose not to reinstall the power steering. The hood is a 2 inch bolt on Fiberglass Cowl that utilizes the existing cable-lock hood release mechanism that is controlled from inside the car. It fits perfectly and looks great. This car is not perfect which is why the price is not $15000. There is one small dent on the lip of the right(passenger side) front fender. It is small and it blends in when you look down the side of the car. You may be able to barely see it in one of the pictures. The paint has been touched up on the car here and there as well. DRIVETRAIN Engine: BRAND NEW 355 Small Block Chevy. Engine cost $3000. Has only been started and driven down the street in front of my house. Engine has flat top pistons that give a stout, but pump gas friendly 10 to 1 compression. The pistons were put on a nice set of GM reconditioned "Pink" rods. It has a new Comp Camshaft, valve springs, retainers, keepers... Cam is .530 lift and Duration is .234 .244 @.050. The heads are GM Steel with all NEW one-piece stainless valves. It has hooker headers and it really sounds great through the 3 inch exhaust with turndowns. It has a NEW Polished Air Gap Intake manifold and a NEW 850 CFM Demon Carb that deliver the fuel. It has a very nice NEW CSR SFI Flexplate that was almost $200. I wanted the heavier duty one so I could use nitrous if I wanted. It has a new oil pan with oil pan rail studs installed. It has a polished billet aluminum timing cover with a competition billet timing tab and underneath lies a double roller timing chain set. It has a NEW set of Comp Cams Roller Rockers and lastly, it has a very nice set of polished tall aluminum valve covers. The radiator is a HUGE Griffin Aluminum that cools the engine with little effort. It has been rewire with a remote solenoid for easier starting and I just put a BRAND NEW 750 Cold Cranking Amp Battery in it a few days ago. Transmission: Transmission was built by Jay Bradford of "Bad Habit Racing Transmissions". It is an ALL NEW Turbo 350 transmission with a REVERSE manual valve body. It has deep aluminum trans pan for extra fluid capacity. It also has a "HIPSTER" Transbrake. If I remember correctly, the torque converter is a Neal Chance. It is a 9 inch, 6 bolt, 4000 stall nitrous style converter. Rear: The rear is a narrowed Chevy 12 bolt with 488 gears and a spool. It has 35 spline Mosier axles with long wheel studs. The rear suspension is all NEW ladder bar with coil overs and diagonal link. The rear brakes are Aerospace billet aluminum with cross drilled ventilated rotors. Electronics: The car has full MSD electronics. It has an MSD 6AL ignition. It has an HEI billet distributor. It has an MSD Two Step with modules for transbrake and rev-limiter. EXTRAS:I have a very nice set of wheelie bars that go with the car as I said before for NO EXTRA CHARGE. I have a BRAND NEW ED Quay Aluminum Wing that is made for the El Camino. It has all the heim joints, stainless strut arms and stainless hardware. Again, this goes with the car at NO EXTRA CHARGE.This is a really nice car and I will make someone a heck of a deal. You couldnt build this car for what I am going to sell it for. There is no warranty expressed or implied with this car. It is sold as-is. Seller is not responsible for any damage in shipping etc. The seller has described this car to the best of his ability. Seller welcomes anyone to come inspect the car before bidding.
