This is a 1977 Datsun 280Z with a little more than 141,000 original miles. It was produced in March of 1977 and it was sold new on July 11, 1977 at Heinz Datsun in Illinois with 8 miles at delivery. The original engine block is still in the car (engine block # L28159174) and it still has its original 4 speed manual transmission. I purchased this 280Z last year after I decided to part out another 1977 Datsun 280Z that I own. The plan was to transfer the entire drivetrain and suspension into this 280Z but I have not made any progress and late last year I ended up purchasing a one owner 1978 280Z. As I don't have the time to devote to bringing this 280Z back to life I have decided to sell this 280Z. I have a small number of records dating back to 1987 and the original owner's manual and warranty booklet that go with the car. As far as I know the 280Z was last driven in 1995. I have not attempted to start the car and the engine oil looks very clean and the radiator coolant looks very clean. The transmission shifts smoothly for what it is worth. The clutch pedal is not frozen. The Enkei mesh wheels will not be sold with the car. I have a set of original steel wheels and hubcaps that go with the Z. The 280Z does have an original Datsun windshield. The 280Z has some rust issues and I have taken lots of pictures, some of which are posted below. The car has been repainted once in the original color (paint code 611--wine red metallic). The damage to the left rear quarter panel was caused by a dry rotted tire. The transporter did not notice the condition of the tire until it had already disintegrated. The link to the remaining pictures is here:
