Vehicle Detail

1940 Ford Convertible Deluxe    Hello and thank you for viewing my auction. Please feel free to ask any and all questions. Please review my feedback so you can be confident in bidding. I have sold many cars on eBay over the years and I have glowing feedback. I am not a car dealer but I pride myself on finding and collecting some of the finest rust free, best built automobiles in the southwest. This car is no exception.  I knew I had to own her the moment I saw her. However, right now I have many cars and no room - so she must go.   This is one of the finest examples of a period hotrod you will find. It does not get more iconic than a forty convertible and this one is built right. First, let's start off with the body. It is all steel and is a very nice body. I have not found any patchwork and the body work was done to a very high caliber. It was done many years ago and it still looks excellent. This car was a true nut and bolt restoration. The motor was built by renowned flathead builder Anthony Lucckino who's flatheads have been featured in many automotive journals. That includes a cover of car craft magazine. The motor was built with precision and all period correct parts and only has less than 6000 miles on her. She runs great I just completed a 300 mile road trip with altitudes ranging from 1100 feet to 5400 feet. This is the only flathead I would not hesitate to drive cross country.   The motor features: the car can run with the hood or without it is very easy to take on and off and as you can see in the pictures there is also a custom alluminum cover for the upper radiator when its run without the hood this was done to be able to show off the motor in every detail as it has won every engine class it has entered the cost to build the motor was over 15,000 it's a 49-53 ABA block that has a forged four inch merc crank all new bearing the cam is a custom TOTEM grind done by Dan Crower.  The motor has been bored and stroked to 276 cubic inches. It also features Edelbrock aluminum heads. It also features an incredibly rare Thickstun pm7 aluminum high rise intake with two Stromberg 97's and a very rare original Thickstun carb hat. The motor also has Fenton headers The generator has been rebuilt using 12 volt components as well as a new distributor. There is a new radiator so she runs cool even in phoenix on a 108 degree day. She will run 180 to 190.   As said before, this motor has less than 6000 miles since being built. The transmission is also period correct- it's a 39 ford top loader with 26 tooth straight cut Lincoln Zepher gears. The transmission has less than 800 miles on it since being rebuilt, the complete undercarriage has been detailed and painted to match the rest of the motor and is very clean and presentable. The front end features a super bell axle with Pete and jakes front shock setup and a disc brake conversion from posies.  So, this girl stops on a dime.   The interior is as new; it's from Lebarron-Boney and is very high quality with excellent seat foam.  It's very comfortable and just helps give it that great ride. The interior also features almost new white faced gauges from auto meter and every gauge does work. For that matter, every item on this car works- the wipers and all. It also has a brand new painless wiring harness with all modern wiring done very well. It is of course 12 volt. I know there is more, please feel free to email any and all questions. I will respond promptly. The top is there and in good shape. Although, it does have some water stains. I do believe they could be cleaned. The top has only been on the car 3 times in 11 years, but it is in good shape. I also have the original hood. However, it does have some minor damage from being transported (as scene in the picture). I do not have the hood mounted because I like the style without and I have a custom aluminum cover built for the front grill. I would be willing to install the hood for transport if needed. I also have a set of rear fender skirts that could be included as well if the buyer is interested.   This is a wonderful car with stacks of paperwork and receipts. I highly encourage all potential bidders to view the car in person. I will be more than happy to arrange airport transportation from phoenix sky harbor to the car. If any potential buyers cannot come, I highly encourage them to have an inspection done on their behalf. Please review my feedback and bid with confidence. This car has been appraised at over 2 times the reserve price. As bidders can see, most of my auctions end with the buy it now.                                                                                                                                                   Please note, the lift is also yellow. The dirt and grease are part of the lift. Not the vehicle.
