Vehicle Detail
THIS IS BEING RE-LISTED DUE TO NON PAYING BIDDER For sale is my 1995 Del Sol S. I'm the third owner and of the 48 months that I've owned the car, it's sat in my garage for 34 of those months (major spine surgeries). I bought the car in Feb '08 with 97,000 miles on it. I immediately changed the timing belt, water pump, flushed and refilled all fluids, changed the oil and filter, and did a complete tune up with NGK wires and plugs. I also replaced the dash panel lights with blue led bulbs (much brighter and look way better). I then drove the car daily for 6 months with no issues before storing it for 20 months. I then drove the car daily for 8 months. Two months into driving the car I bought a new battery and had no other issues. It has now been in storage for the past 14 months. Seeings how I'm not going to be driving anytime soon (if ever again) I've decided to sell it. The car currently has 124,810 miles on it with the original engine and transmission (AUTOmatic) with a clean and clear Florida title. I purchased the car in Pennsylvania when I lived there and have since relocated to Florida. Before listing it I wanted to make sure everything was checked out by a professional mechanic so I took it to Tuffy's Automotive in Ft. Myers, Fl. I needed a new distributor o-ring and valve cover gasket, new radiator cap, had one tire plugged (it was noticeably low) and had a complete oil/lube/filter. In addition to the complete examination they also ran a engine diagnostic test and everything checked out fine. There is only ONE mechanical issue, that is it could use a new passenger side CV drive ($220 installed). That is the ONLY mechanical "flaw" they found that I didn't repair. Cosmetically the exterior has some bruises and dings but for being 17 years old it still looks good. The paint is faded in several places and it does have a small surface rust spot at the rear passenger fender, and a very small surface spot behind the passenger's side door (rear lower quarter) (see pics). The winshield is free of chips and cracks and still shows the inspection and emission stickers from Pennsylvania (March '10). The interior is in good condition with exception to the carpeting. It's starting to pull away from the driver's side floor panel and is in the condition you would expect of 17 year old carpeting. There are no floor mats. The dash and all panels are in great shape, they aren't cracking or faded. There is a spot on the passenger door where it closes that the plastic is warped, but it isn't really noticeable when the door is closed (see pics). The rear storage panel has some scrapes/scratches on the lid (passenger's side). The seats need a real good cleaning (vacuum and shampoo) but are otherwise in good shape. No rips, holes, tears or cigarette burns. Aside from needing a really good cleaning there are only TWO issues with the interior. The knob for the a/c refuses to stay intact (the knob is in perfect condition) I've tried everything. It works fine to adjust a/c it just refuses to stay intact, so I store it in the ash tray. The a/c blows ice cold air!! The only other interior issue (besides a/c knob not staying on) is a few of the dash panel lights have blown. When i bought the car the factory lights were very dim so i replaced them with led bulbs. You can still see/read the speedometer fine, but it isn't perfect. All windows, doors, etc perform as they should. The targa top has never, ever had a single drop of water leakage at all. The seals are the original ones and are in perfect condition. Inside the trunk lies the spare tire and jack with lug wrench. The first owner of the car had an aftermarket alarm installed, and for whatever reason had it removed when they sold the car. It does not have an alarm system currently. I wanted a smart phone charging system for the driver and passenger (cigarette lighter), so I had an additional one installed to the left side of the steering wheel (above the fuse box). It looks like a factory option and works nice! I was planning on jet-skiing once i was all healed up, so i had a towing kit (with hitch/ball and wiring) installed. Unfortunately it was only used twice, but it's a nice extra feature that works great! Other than that it's a factory Del Sol. An excellent daily driver! Here is some general info on the car. The MSRP was $13,520 in 1995. In addition the AUTO transmission, power steering and air conditioning system brought that number up. It is equipped with dual airbags, and has the following power features: steering, windows (including rear window). The car is/has 102 HP, 1.5 liter, I-4and uses regular (87 octane) unleaded gas. It is a 4 speed automatic, with a 16 valve VTEC I-4 engine. Gas mileage is 27/32 city/highway approximately. Has 4 disc brakes, front anti-roll bar, rear defroster, tachometer, cruse control and a tilt steering wheel. Also has a digital clock. The center console has a 2 drink holder and there is a small ashtray. The car is a 2-seater and has 4 speakers, with a Pioneer aftermarket xm/cd player DEH-P3500. The tires in front are Douglas, Yokohama in passenger rear, and Hankook driver rear. The tires are all 175/R13 and have 25,000 miles left on them. Other than the ONE mechanical issue (CV drive), TWO interior issues (a/c knob and dash panel lights) and exterior bruises/dings/fading the car is in good shape!! This car is in EXCELLENT running condition; no smoke, no leaks, no overheating, no grinding, etc...The car just really needs a good cleaning, inside and out. I would do this but due to my condition I'm unable to. If you're interested in the car I recommend and highly encourage you to have the car checked out by the mechanic of your choice. Please also take a minute to check my ebay profile. I've been an active member since January 2000 and have never, ever received a negative or neutral feedback, ever!! Just as I take great pride in my FICO score, I take pride in my eBay feedback as well. I live 10 minutes away from Southwest Florida International Airport. It's located in Ft. Myers, Fl and the code for the airport is "RSW". I would recommend buying a $100 one way ticket from Southwest Airlines then driving the car home if it's practical. Considering the gas mileage the car gets, it's gotta be cheaper than having it shipped to you!! If you would need a week or two to come get the car it's not a problem, I am more than willing to work with anyone as long as the deposit and balance have been paid as stated in the "Payment" section. If there's something that I've forgotten please e-mail me, I'll post all questions and the answers here. Please note that I WILL NOT RESPOND to a question that has already been answered in the description unless it's a question that requires a more in-depth response. Thanks for your time. All the best, stay well. TERMS OF THE AUCTION WARRANTY: This vehicle is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed, written or implied.
