Vehicle Detail
1985 Celica GTS Convertible Collector car, extremely rare. Automatic, 22RE 4 cylinder fuel injected engine, power windows, cruise control, and power top. New top was professionally installed and works perfectly. Garaged and extremely well cared for. No leaks. No rips or tears in the seats, no cracks in the dash. Original paint. Few dings and chips, nothing major, much less than would be expected from a car 27 years old. Low 133k original miles. Excellent condition, runs perfectly, air conditioner blows cold, and no rust. Tires only have 7,300 miles on them. Fun collector car with great handling around town and on the highway. Stereo upgraded to a Sony CD with Aux input. Mechanics refer to the 22RE engine as "bullet proof" and I have seen one on eBay with 400,000 original miles and still running strong. First convertible Toyota and includes a glass rear window with working defroster. This auction Includes the parade boot which is also rare and auctions for more than $500 alone on eBay. Includes original owner's manual, convertible shop manual, and 1985 Celica dealer brochure featuring this convertible model as the centerfold. I am selling because I simply do not drive this beautiful classic very much and wish to have the garage space for my daily driver. Routine maintenance on this car includes brake pads (103,000), transmission flush (112,700), radiator flush and spark plugs (121,000), new tires (126,000) and regular oil and filter changes. I will include many receipts for service and maintenance from the previous owner and myself. When I purchased this car in March 2007 I knew it had been well cared for when the previous owner instructed me how to sit in the car without causing wear on the interior! There are three cosmetic flaws shown in the last three images. There are two repaired scratches: one on the drivers front fender and one on the trunk near the power antenna. The driver door has a ding on the edge although the paint is not damaged and it doesn't impact door operation. It is near the "asc" label inside of the door. The only non functioning accessory is the power door lock. The solenoid would occasionally lock and unlock the doors. I disconnected the solenoid to avoid this. On a car this size, I do not miss the power locks. Shipping is available. Feel free to submit any questions you have. Contact me if you would like a YouTube video showing all of the power windows and top in operation. Starts, runs, and drives great. I have taken it on several road trips and would be comfortable driving this car a great distance without any reservations. Brand new the 1985 Celica GTS Convertible retailed for $17,669. NADA high retail today is $5,675. There is a low reserve set at half of the NADA high retail price. Serious bidders only, please. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! On Mar-01-12 at 06:26:34 PST, seller added the following information: I appreciate all of the interest my Celica has generated! Answers to some questions I have had: My mechanic replaced all belts when I bought the Celica in 2007. Brake master cylinder and all brake fluid was replaced in 2010. Radiator is clean and fluid is clean. Power antenna works great and retracts for CD and Aux input use. There are two rear seats which fold down. I insure the Celica with Haggerty. I have found them to be good for classics and am paying less than $150 per year for FULL insurance on this classic Toyota. There is not a Buy It Now price and the auction will end on schedule on Sunday afternoon. The highest eBay sale price I have ever seen for an '85 Celica GTS convertible was a white one in Deerfield, IL on 5-25-2009 for $8,100. It was in similarly good shape and only had 74,900 miles. Thanks again for your interest!
