Vehicle Detail

Documented One owner/family (Until 2 weeks ago when I bought it) 1967 Bahama Yellow PORSCHE 912. Numbers matching un modified one owner car. Hello, and thank you for looking! My name is Jim, and I will tell you what I know about this beautiful car. This PORSCHE has been my neighbors (of 40 years) car since bought new on February 6th 1967, (thats what it says on the finance contract I have that goes with this sale, and as with every other form of documentation I refer to henceforth). The car was bought her husband a fireman who passed away in 1977. She had the PORSCHE transferred to her name in 1981 (I have a photo of the pink avail) She gave me rides to our local jr. college (where she worked in Administration for 30 years) in the late 80's where I first took notice of what a cool car it was. This car was her daily driver, until she was diagnosed with cancer in the 90's at that point she bought an automatic Honda that was easier to drive with her condition. This car never sat outside was always garaged (the second to last photo is the first day I got the car pushed into her driveway) and has sat covered in there since 1995. She and I always went back and forth on me trying to buy it from her, and when she finally agreed last year to sell it to me she lost her fight with cancer at the age of 76. She was a wonderful woman and a good neighbor. She knew the car well and always had it serviced if something was not right. the car has 144,216 miles on it now. I could go on and on about this but would like to get on about the car (I will gladly portray all information to the winner should this sell here on ebay on the stories I have etc. just ask) I bought the car via certified check payable to her estate on February 6, 2012 and have the California title now in my name (kinda freaky I just realized I bought the car on the same day..) The last photo here shows the car in my garage on the dollies I used to push it "two doors down" and where it now sits in good company waiting for a new owner. Before I go specific I just want to say I am extremely torn between my 928 and this (I work on 928's) and the more history I have with this car the harder it would be to sell, But I am selling it, and after only three days on the road locally here have 4 offers on it. So realize all, that I have placed a reserve on this car that is 500 dollars above the highest offer I have received locally, so if this car does not sell on ebay it will be gone. I will be adding more description within the next two days (I type slow) on the technical side of the car, but want to get the auction going , so please check back . This car will be sold with a 500 dollar deposit due immediately via Paypal and the balance in cash bank check or personal check(vehicle released once funds clear) I will help with all you shipping transfer needs as well. Again my name is Jim, and good luck. Thank You On Feb-20-12 at 13:19:01 PST, seller added the following information: Hello, Here is information on the car. Jim http://buggley1967porsche912.shutterfly.com/ On Feb-21-12 at 20:43:54 PST, seller added the following information: Hello, After alot of questions on this car let me try to answer them at once. This car has been sitting covered in a garage since 1995 until a few weeks ago, and when parked was a running and well maintained daily driver. Firstly please read the service details they tell the total history of this car. I have had the car just 2 WEEKS now, and have driven it 130 miles but now it sits safe in the garage and will not be driven at all by me any more, as it will sell here. There are almost 300 pictures at the link above, (you must cut and paste it) Once I put the car in my garage two weeks ago, I removed the fuel tank and took it to be boiled and re-lined and coated , this took 8 days, in the mean time I removed the plugs and pre lubed the cylinders and hand turned the crank a few times. I cleaned the fuel line from tank to bay, replaced the fuel filter and the other fuel hoses. I cleaned and oiled the carb filter elements. 1 week ago I wiped clean the fuel/ trunk area with a wet towel, then also removed the cover under the car to re-connect the fuel line. The cover had no rust. As a matter of fact the only rust is shown in the pictures, the large spot is about the size of the bottom of a pint glass and is in the trunk front section and is caused by the Bilsten jack foot vibrating from the owner just setting in there and during driving over the years had rubbed the protective coating there. This does NOT go through and pushing on it it is solid. And the other rust spot is pictured 2 times it is about 3mm round and is located mid span on the Left rear vent window base. I started to clean the chrome but did not get to the inside of the car, but the outside chrome looked worse than those pictured in the inside, and with chrome polish came right back like new, so the rusty looking chrome trim in the pictures (around all the windows and the gauge bezels will shine right up,I also started only one seat hinge but it came right back as well ) Basically this car needs cleaning only. The throttle linkage bushings were brittle as with the shifter bushings and I replaced them all. There are many pictures of the underside, and when I had the tunnel carpet off to replace the bushings I vacuumed and cleaned and saw no rust, as well as when I had the foot boards removed for the throttle there was alot of buildup behind the accelerator pedal of sand and dry dust, but a thorough vacuum and all looks great. The antenna was not original and wobbled about so I removed it, but it goes with the car (that is the picture of the "hole" at the photo link) The rubber is hard at places and shrinking, all the glass is original windscreen is SIGLA and all the other 7 windows are sekurit. I only fixed what it needed and this car starts immediately idles perfectly shifts accurately and moves with good power The tires are Winstons from 1982 and they have sidewall checking and that is the only reason I did not drive this car straight to Lake Tahoe the day she fired up. Please take the time to go to the link: http://buggley1967porsche912.shutterfly.com/ The main interest for this car has been European so far, and I will aid any way possible in assuring the car gets to you via your preferred method, Thank you all again It really is a great car and good luck. On Feb-23-12 at 09:36:49 PST, seller added the following information: Hello, there were a few questions regarding the history of the car. I have added 3 pictures of the paperwork to validate the history. The first is the Original Security Agreement Dated Feb 6th 1967 with the name Jack Kemp (also the car still retains the Porsche Emblem Brass Badge on the glovebox added to the car by the dealer says" J Kemp") and the address of 2412 Hilton street (The house shown in the photos) and the dated New California title Feb 6th 2012 in my name and address of 2466 Hilton street (again 2 doors down) and a service receipt to Irene Kemp dated 1977 with the same address of 2412 before she went back to her maiden name of Garcia. All this paperwork goes with the car. Hope this helps. Thank You again for all the nice comments and interest in this PORSCHE!
