Vehicle Detail
1974 911 Targa 9114112073 Motor number 6144336 Paint code: 137 (Lime Green) You are bidding on a very collectable and desirable 911 Targa that was originally Lime Green, which is a very striking color. The car now is in India Red. The color change was a very comprehensive, but older, glass out respray. The paint is in good condition, that gets lots of looks and comments. The matching number motor and transmission are both excellent. The engine is very quiet, idles glass smooth at 1000 rpm, provides excellent power, and doesn't smoke cold or hot. The oil pressure is very good and the motor runs cool. I have included a picture of the car at 50mph showing the oil pressure. The motor starts right up hot or cold. The transmission shifts smoothly up and down with no grinding at any speed, The syncros are smooth and tight. The clutch feels smooth and strong. The tan interior is in good condition. The seats are cloth, the carpets are recent. The dash has one small crack at the center. The car has an aftermarket stereo installed. The Targa top needs to be recovered. The chrome trim is in very good condition One fog light lens is missing The underside shows some signs of the original lime green. There is some rust in the rockers and at the jack spurs. I have tried to show the worst areas in the photos. There is no rust in the front suspension pan or battery tray. 16X6" Fuchs with older tires. The spare is missing and there is no tool kit. All gages function correctly except the odometer. This is a common problem coming from trying to reset the trip counter while moving which strips the plastic gears. This is a very attractive driver and a great candidate for restoration. It can be driven with pride as is and restored at a later date The car is advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Please ask questions before bidding, I will respond promptly by email. Remember, your bid is a contract to buy. I have set the reserve very low, so bid to win. I can help arrange shipping to Europe.
