Vehicle Detail
Welcome, you are a bidding on a great running and driving 1970 Porsche 914 1.7litre. This is a NO RESERVE auction, so high bidder gets it. This car has minimal rust on it and would make a great restoration or running and driving project. Car has been garaged for the last 23 years, however I did get it running and driving and drove it on a 50 mile drive recently. I have had a few of these and can honestly say it makes more power and shifts through the gears better than the rest. Also has much less rust than you usually see on an original 914. Engine/Transmission: Car is believed to retain the original 1.7 that it came with. It has been switched over to dual weber carbs and make great power. It has the 5 speed manuel transmission which shifts nicely as it should. Car stays in gear and seems to has good synchros. Wheels/Tires: This 914 has the 14 inch fuch wheels that came on the 914-6 and 911 comfort package cars. The 5 lug conversion has been done on the car so they fit properly. The tires are very old and cracked and should be replaced. I probably should not have drove the car for 50 miles on these tires, but I did and they held up. Interior: I've been told the interior is original on the car. The dash is cracked and most of the carpeting is missing. The seats are actually in pretty good shape, but the back pad is worn and cracked. All the knobs and switches are in the car, window cranks, etc, and all work. The ignition on the car is stuck and will need to be replaced (the cylinder where you put the key into) Body: This car attains it original paint color (L 80 E, light ivory). However, car could really use a nice new paint job. The car looks to have been hit in the rear at one time and then repaired. The lines on the car seem to look good. The hell hole area looks to be in good shape. The only real area I found much rust was in the lower trunk area and it appears to be just surface rust and has not gone through. The lights pop up as they should and work as well as the fog lights. I also have the front valance for the car, it is just not attached at the moment. Overall, I think this will make a great project or restoration for someone. Car comes with a box of extra parts and a shop manuel. I have a clear nevada pink slip ready to hand off to the new owner. I can help arrange shipping overseas or domestic. If you have under 10 feedback please call me if you are going to bid. Call Dan if you have any further questions about the car,925 413 8974, thank you and good luck.
