Triumph Spitfire 1979 Restoration Started! Great Project Car! VIN No. FM101499U Mileage. 72,463 This car came from a collection of cars I purchased off a friend. He started restoring the car, but then gave up the British car business. Here is a list of new parts and other misc things done to car; Re-finished gas tank, new sending unit, wiper motor, battery, starter solenoid, heater control valve, coil, brake equalization valve, master cylinder, clutch slave, dash cover & vents, new tune up parts, leather steering wheel, starter, belts & rebuilt alternator.Engine was also gone through. It has the earlier smog head (redone).The lower end may have also had some work done.The engine runs and drives very strong. Transmission shifts good in all gears, and the clutch is strong.Compression in all cylinders were 120-125+- Also has aftermarket header, recent new brakes, rotors, and new tires. Tires are: (Extra-Tac A/H) 155-80-13. Car does have new floor panels and a few patch panels (see photos).There are a few small spots that will need some minor finishing (see photos). Spare parts and weather stripping are also included. They are not installed, but they are in the trunk in a box. (see photos) The car has a nice wooden dash. All of the gauges may not be completely hooked up. It was installed just for taking photos. Factory water choke will need some adjusting. The only parts the car really needs are: windshield, carpet, interior door panels, and convertible top frame. Ignition key also included.
