A friend of mine bought this bike in 1981, rode it a little, fell off in his driveway, and put it in the garage. I retrieved it last fall. He had actually forgotten about it, and it was covered over with a tarp and 30 years of cardboard boxes. I brought it home, cleaned it up, cleaned out the carbs, changed the oil, and put in a new battery and plugs. Since then, I've ridden it 7 miles up and down my driveway. I've tried to get a title, as my pal had lost the old one. It turns out that Pennsylvania's DMV doesn't have records from 1981. I've dealt with the Virginia DMV, and found out that they can originate a title for about $170. I'd rather just sell it as is, and whoever buys it can deal with their local DMV if a title is needed. If it's going to a collector, or will be used on private property, a title isn't necessary. I will provide a bill of sale. This is not a stolen motorcycle. I think my pictures show it pretty well. The dent on the gas tank was from the above mentioned driveway spill in 1981. Tires are old- I'd replace them before road use for peace of mind. A professional tune up would be a good idea too. I will help with loading or possibly arrange to deliver to or meet buyer within 100 miles of my home- Farmville, in southern virginia. This should be discussed before end of auction. I would like $300 as a deposit to my paypal account at the end of the auction, with the rest to be paid in CASH at time of pickup/delivery.
