Vehicle Detail

1981 Mercedes 380SEL. 73,323 actual miles. Extremely nice car with every option. MSRP in 1981 was $61,000 with the options described. The car features power windows, door locks, seats, antenna, moonroof, passenger mirror, and they all work perfectly. Everything on the interior works as it should, including the factory clock and all interior lighting. The interior has leather seats and is in great condition. The dash has a few small cracks as seen in the pictures. The carpets are nice with no tears, staining, or wear. The car also features intermittent wipers, cruise, A/C, and AM/FM cassette radio all of which operate as they should. This Mercedes has the 3.8L DOHC fuel-injected gas V8 with automatic transmission. The car runs, shifts, and drives as it should. No noises, knocks, leaks. Brakes operate well also. The exterior is in very good condition. There is NO rust on this car. The paint is nice but not perfect. There is slight paint checking on both sides with notable orange peel around each door handle. The checking is very difficult to see unless you are looking closely for it. I do believe the sides have been painted (below the pin striping) at one time but certainly not done by an amateur. The paint on the top surfaces is nice and appears to be original. The chrome on the car is also very nice with absolutely no pitting or discoloration. The rear bumper does have a few marks from what appears to be spike marks from golf shoes. Only a few and easily touched up. Other than that, the bumper mouldings and exterior side trim are nice. The door jambs are also in great shape. Each door shuts with that perfect German engineered sound. The car is as shiny in person as seen in the pictures. The engine compartment and trunk are in great condition. The trunk retains the unused original spare and the engine compartment is clean with absolutely no leaks. The undercarriage is also extremely clean with NO rust anywhere. This car has been well taken care of and appears to have never been driven on salted roads and most likely stored inside. I’ve also included a picture of all the manuals, including a maintenance manual and the original Data Plate. You will get a clean Indiana title. I will not leave it “open”. Your name will be assigned to the title. The tires look new and have 95% tread. Overall, this is a very nice 31 year old Mercedes. It is not a “show” car but an exceptional daily driver that still stands up to any currently built luxury car. It certainly could be a show car with some very MINOR paint work on the side panels of the car. The paint in no way distracts from this cars originality. I’ve included pictures detailing trouble spots and the car as a whole. Car is available for inspection daily after 3:30 pm Eastern Time. Please email any questions. Payment: A $500 deposit required immediately at auction’s end via Paypal. Balance due upon pickup by cash or certified bank check. I will not accept Paypal for the entire purchase price. Car must be picked up and paid in full within 21 days. Sorry, no trades. This vehicle is located in Bunker Hill, IN 46914 about 70 miles due north of Indianapolis. Thanks for looking.
