Vehicle Detail

1964 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE...BRILLANT RED PAINT 327 V8 ENGINE+++4 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION THINGS WORK HISTORY: We bought this car from a older man in Huntsville, Alabama. He owned Lanier Flying Service, this was mostly a helicopters and small fixed wing planes used for crop dusting and forrest spraying. He painted the car, had the bumpers rechromed and put new emblems on. He bought the car for a fun driver and said he drove it very little, so it decided to sell it. We bought it detailed the engine a little better, fixed a few things like some lights, tach, temp gauges and buffed his swirl marks out. VIN: 40897S103559 MILAGE: 69,436 reading, we think to be correct, but cannot document. TITLE: Clear Alabama regisration of title in hand. Transfering the documents is no problem, I'm just a mechanic working out of my garage, but I have Tennesse dealers license and am bonded. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? Of course not, this is fiber-glass body and floors, the frames members all look good. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a classic car restorer, but when I find a decent car that I can make a little profit on I buy and resell it. PAINT: It is a fiberglass body made in the factory by Chevrolet so it has no rusty places, it is not cracked up like lots of Corvettes, no dents, no dings, no rust bubbles, it straight to look down the sides, it has a brillant shine. The paint is about 2 years old and the pilot painted the car and all his air-craft his self, he used DuPont paint, we have some of it left, its Riverside Red. The paint is nice, but not perfect. He painted the door jambs slick, the paint is good, but has some tiny flaws too small to show up in pictures. By flaws I mean some tiny chips he missed filling and a few specs in the paint. He did a good job, just not a perfect job, it satisfied him and satisfies me, but if you look you see a few flaws that will not show up in pictures. This would be considered a upper end drive and enjoy quality paint job on the car. If you want to drive it its plenty good, if you want to haul it to the car show and roll it out of the trailer to win 1st prize its not a perfect, its not a $15,000 paint job. Just to look its good, if it rolled on the auction block it would show perfect to the crowd, to inspect to buy with a critical eye you will see the very tiny flaws. "Nice paint, just not 100% perfect". CHROME: All the chrome is new or nice, he had the bumpers rechromed, new mirrow, new emblems and new gas cap. INTEROR: No smoke smell, the seats are good other than a few loose treads in the bottom of the drivers seat, the door panels good and carpet OK, the painted trim is good with a few tiny nicks and chips. UNSERSIDE: Nice, fairly clean and neat, but not for show, its built to drive. The frame members and supports look good. GLASS: The windsield was put in new when the car was painted 2 years ago and side windows look clear. CONVERTIBLE TOP: Good used condition, no holes and no cracks. ENGINE: The engine is a strong running 327 cubic inch, it has no blue smoke, it has no rattles and no un-wanted nosises. The pilot said it was a dealership installed replacement block. I did not have any reason to question him and did not try to look up casting numbers. Its a sweet engine! EXHAUST SYSTEM: Non original side pipes about 2 years old. TRANSMISSION: 4 speed manual transmission that has no whines or growls. REAR-END: No whines or growls, it a good ratio for power and the highway, I did not check the ratio, I will if it matters to you and you are serious. BRAKES: Good, the car stops good. STEERING: The car drives good, it is not power steering. WHEELS AND TIRES: Good B F Goodrich radial tires on GM Rally wheels. LIGHTS: They work, turn signals work, headlights work, tail lights work and brake lights work. GUAGES: They all work! The tach was not working, we put a new cable on and it works good, it does have just a little jump from not being used in so long. SPEEDOMETER WORKS! WIPERS WORK! GAS GAUGE WORKS! HORN is not working, I'll check it out, no guarantee, but if its not the column mechanism I'll be able to fix it! HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? I think they open and close good. HOW IS THE PANEL FIT? I would consider them good, the doors and hood fit good, the center of the hood is off just a little in the center at the front, its a factory thing. HEADLIGHT DOORS: They work! TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the car, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com PAPERWORK: I know what to do! WE DO NOT HAVE A SHOW ROOM WITH OVERHEAD! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the vehicle “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. I am 65 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 39. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 42 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! TRANSPORT: EBAY MOTORS gives 3 instant transport quotes if you click on the link on my listing. US OR EXPORT “the best”: Classic Car Transport, LLC located in the Kansas City area: This is a very good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or over seas. Call Jeremy Whitley at 913-749-0936 email::: jeremyw@classiccartransport.com "You can google Classic Car Transport and read about them". MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. I will take this by PayPal, but not full payment. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 65 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! TRADES: Please no trades! BOTTOM LINE: My price is $36,400 and I'm asking $38,400 on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle. Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it! Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com IS THERE A WARRANTY? No!
