*My baby is due any day now so please have patience if I do not respond to questions/offers right away. For Sale: 2001 Ford Explorer Sport with approximately 123,000 miles. This explorer runs great and has working 4WD, Heat, A/C, and Radio/CD player. Will make a great daily driver for someone. It has some cosmetic issues from age like: typical rust areas, dents & dings, and the carpet is stained. The leather seats are still pretty good; with the driver seat showing a little more wear than the others. The truck has a lot of conveniences like: rear HVAC & stereo controls, multiple (2) 12V outlets, and driver’s power seat. I think the tires probably have about 10-12K miles left on them. For me, that would get me through next winter and into summer. The front rotors and pads were just replaced. The 4WD control module was replaced last year (these typically fail, I think the replacement CM’s were improved) and the 4WD transfer case switch motor was replaced (these also typically fail). This Explorer can get through almost anything a Northern Indiana winter can deliver (including the huge drift in front of my driveway from the snow plow). I would really like to keep this vehicle for a back up, but I got a newer car about 6 months ago and I think my sister has driven this thing more than I have since then. Not to mention, I don’t have space for it and we are having a baby soon so the extra cash will be nice. It’s time for this Explorer (affectionately referred to as “exploder”) to move on to a new owner. This was my third Explorer Sport and by far the best model (also had a ’93 and ’97). It has a lot of good use in it still and someone will really appreciate it. The Good: 4WD Works A/C Works Heat Works Leather Seats Radio Works Trailer Hitch 210 HP 4.0L SOHC V6 The Bad: Rear wiper doesn’t function properly (it goes, but does not contact the window) Gas door doesn’t stay closed (get used to hearing, “Hey, you know your gas door is open?”) The Ugly: Typical Rust Spots Stained Carpet Send me a message with any questions and request my phone number if you want to call.
