Vehicle Detail
This is a great "antique" car, very cute, reliable and fun to drive. It is driven regularly during winters but rests most of the year. Most of it's life it has been in Tucson, Arizona, used only as a second car by "snowbirds" from Minnesota which explains the low 161K mileage. It was always stored out of the sun which has kept the paint and interior great. It is in amazingly good original condition inside and out. This model was the first mini-van from Japan. It is a Japanese commercial body, chassis, and drivetrain so it is extemely sturdy and reliable. It does have all kinds of luxury features though. It has the usual power windows, mirrors, door locks, moon roof and sliding sun roof. They all still work. It has Cruise control and AC. The AC has not worked for years. Since it is a winter only car it was never needed and wasn't checked out, so it may just need recharging or something very minor. The cruise control worked until last month and has not been checked out. It has two features that are fairly unique. One is a six pack sized refrigerator that can switch to freezer mode. It doesn't work now since it uses the AC compressor. It also has turn head lights. These are really nice. When the turn signal goes on at night it also turns on a strong light that shows what is coming on that side. It's 26 years old so it's not perfect. The paint and body work are amazingly good for it's age. It has very attractive factory Mag wheels and four matching radial tires with plenty of tread. It has a full sized spare in good condition. The paint and stripes still have good gloss. Even the plastic bumpers are still undamaged. There are a number of tiny gravel dings in the front, two small dings in the back the worst one pictured. There aren't even any significant door dings. There is one dent in the sliding door. It is un-creased with no paint damage so it most likely could be just popped back out. Unfortunately the van isn't completely rust free, but it shows in only two places, both pictured. One minor rust problem is the bottom edge of the back hatch. The second more significant rust area is just in front of the right rear wheel and extending to the back of the sliding door. The upholstery, carpets, headliner and dash are all very good. The upholstery has just two tears, one on the side of the drivers seat, about one inch, and and one in the side of the passenger arm rest. The carpet and even the mats are almost unworn, it just has a few bleached areas around the battery hatch behind the drivers seat. With seats for 7 it is a comfortable people hauler. The middle seat folds flat leaving a six foot six sleeping area. The back is big enough to take a full 4 X 8 sheet of plywood with the seats folded down, and a 12 foot board inside up to the dash. The seats come out very easily and they are light enough for one person to maneuver. With the seats out there is a huge cargo area, or the option of converting to a mini-motorhome. I have all these pictures available on Flickr where they can be seen in a full screen slide show and with explanatory captions. If you mouse over the thumbnails, the captions will appear. You can click the Slideshow button above the thumbnails to the right to see them all fullscreen. The link to Flickr is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/redyest/sets/72157629152020823/ I have every reason to believe that this van should be entirely reliable for the new owner, and expect it could be driven away to a new home anywhere. I would probably even be willing to deliver it myself for costs plus airfare home. I have to have a reserve, but it is low for any fully functional auto, and very low for one so special and in excellent condition. Happy bidding.
