What we are selling here is a 1931 Ford Model A Phaeton. I am selling this for/with my neighbor, who is retired and does not know the ways of E-Bay. He has an extensive collection of cars, specifically early Fords among others, and has a VAST knowledge of these vehicles. He just has too many cars, and we have been selling them off one at a time. This particular car is a VERY DESIRABLE 4 door phaeton if you know old Fords, meaning a convertible top 4 door car that you can take a bunch of your friends out in. The owner says that he is the THIRD OWNER of this car!!! The entire car is 100% original, with the obvious exceptions of paint and perhaps being serviced over the years. He has owned it for over 10 years, and recently took it out of climate controlled storage at his shop and cleaned it up, changed the fluids and started it up. It is obviously a standard 40 HP, 4 cylinder 3 speed vehicle that RUNS LIKE A TOP!!!! The color is a maroon or burgundy with black fenders and running boards. The interior is excellent, redone approximately 30 years ago with like materials, and shows as excellent. There is not a speck of rust anywhere on this vehicle, and it is SOLID AS A ROCK!! This vehicle could be run as-is for years of enjoyment, or could be lightly restored to look and be perfect!!! The point is that there are rags out there that need gobs of rework and replacement parts that can take tons of time and money. This would be considered a 3 or 2- EASILY and could be restored to museum quality by an IDIOT with minimal effort and virtually NO PARTS!!! If you can truly appreciate the rarity of a Phaeton, and can be blown away by the originality and condition of this car, come and see it and you will WANT IT!!! The car is sold as-is, but the discriminating buyer should take a trip to York, SC just 45 minutes of Charlotte, NC and take it for a ride!!! Roll under the car on the floor and be prepared to be amazed at the fact that it looks as good underneath as if does at floor level, and was obviously never “molested” by anyone!!! This car is for sale locally, so we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. We require a $1,000.00 deposit within 72 hours of the end of the auction, and the entire balance within 7 days. We will accept Paypal for the deposit only, and need to be paid the balance via cash, cashier's or certified check ONLY. We cannot arrange shipping, but would be happy to work with a carrier to load this vehicle, as we did last year with a 24 T roadster we sold. We would be happy to refer you to that California buyer who is a celebrity and who will tell you how well we represented that particular car and how pleased they were with the transaction, both during and after the sale.
