Vehicle Detail

1966 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE 289 V8 ENGINE++AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION POWER STEERING, POWER TOP, NEW CONVERTIBLE TOP RUNS, DRIVES, STOPS LIKE IT SHOULD and THINGS WORK VIN 6F0T279897 MILEAGE 55291 READING and I'm sure it more, I cannot document anything. THE WAY I SEE THIS CAR: Its a very nice driver quality car, it looks good, it drives good and things work. Its not a perfect show car with a $15,000 paint job, if you look for a little defect you can find one, but it looks real good. Things have been changed and up graded like most old cars. HISTORY: I bought this car from a man in the Rocket City, Huntsville, Alabama. He did not restore the car, he bought it and bolted on a few new parts like a new Holley carburater. He said the car just set and he never seemed to have time to drive it so he sold it. IS THIS CAR ORIGINAL? No! Like most classic cars things have been changed and upgraded. The car came from the factory with a 6 cyclinder engine, it now has a small block engine, owner said was a 289 that had been rebuilt. No documentation on how many miles, but as a old mechanic I can tell you its a very good engine. The intake manifold is after market by Edlebrock, the carburater is a four barrell Holley. All the linkages, rear-end and wheels are changed to the heavier V8 stuff. A lot of cars have been done this way because its getting so hard to find a good body. TITLE: Clear Alabama registration of title in hand. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? No real rust problems, no rusty holes and the underside has no rust issues in the frame or floors, it great, but is not painted slick and pretty on the underside. The bottom of a couple of floor pans have been replaced and they do the job, but have ugly seams if you jack the car up. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a classic car restorer, but when I find a vehicle I like and can sell for a fair market price, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: The paint is nice, but not a $15,000 show car paint job. It has no rust, no big dents and it has a good shine. The paint will satisfy 96% of the people, its not a perfect roll out of the trailer show car paint job, but it is plenty good enough to enter a car show. I think you will be happy with the paint if you want a drive and enjoy quality car! What I mean by not perfect is a some minor orange peel, a few specs and a very minor wavy. CONVERTIBLE TOP LOOKS NEW, it is power operated, the plastic back window is perfectly clear. CHROME: The front bumper is nice, the rear bumper good other than some dulling on the very top edge, door hands decent, stainless around the windshield good, the vent window chrome has some pitts. INTEROR: The interior is good, it has the very desirable bucket/bench seat. You don't see many of them, they look like buckets with the center arm rest down and bench with it up. The dash pad, door panels and other parts of the upholstery look very nice, but not brand new. UNSERSIDE: No rust problem, the torque boxes and frame member look good, it not detailed and painted shinny. The bottoms of a couple of floor panels have been replace and you can see some ugly seams when the car is jacked up. GLASS: Clear with no milkey spots and no cracks, the windshield looks new, the side windows roll up and down very good. SOUND SYSTEM: Its an after market with AM/FM and cassette and it decent quality. ENGINE: Sweet running small block that the last owner said was a 289 cubic inch. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Good used condition, it dual. TRANSMISSION: 3 speed automatic, that shifts good, this is called a C4 transmission. REAR-END: Original and is in good condition with no whines or growls. BRAKES: Brakes stop good, they are drums all around and not power. STEERING: The steering linkage is good, the car drives very good, it is power steering. WHEELS AND TIRES : Tires are good radials and the wheels Magnum 500 style. LIGHTS and wiring: They all work and the wiring is good! . HORN WORKs! WIPERs work! ! THE GAS GAUGE WORKS! Speedometer is working. Heater blower works! GUAGES: Amp gauge works, fuel gauge works, temp works. HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? I think they open and close good! DEFECTS AND PROBLEMS: These are just what I remember off the top of my head! 1. Paint just good drive and enjoy quality, but not show car roll out of the trailer quality. 2. The back bumper top end edge is dull. THE GOOD STUFF: The car looks great, the car drives great, you don't have to do a thing unless you want to. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just too hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the vehicle, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell telephone number is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville and 50 miles north of Chattanooga. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee “I am truly qualified to be called a Hill Billy”. I am 65 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 39. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 42 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! TRANSPORT: EBAY MOTORS gives 3 instant transport quotes if you click on the link on my listing. US OR EXPORT “the best”: Classic Car Transport, LLC: This is a very good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas with the white glove treatment. They are located in Kansas City. Call Bill at 913-749-0930 Email billc@classiccartransport.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. I will take paypal for the deposit, but not for full payment. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. And its safe for both of us. WILL I HOLD THE CAR UNTIL YOU GET HERE TO LOOK OR HAVE IT INSPECTED? Not without a $250 non-refundable deposit! I have held too many cars that people promise me they are going to buy and they never show up, their wife won’t let them buy it, they can’t get a loan or they just back out. Before you drive or fly a long distance you need to make sure the car is not sold. “The way I look at it is until you pay a deposit you’re just looking and dreaming”. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! BOTTOM LINE: My firm price is $19,850 and I am asking $21,850 on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com I am very careful about taking payment, I have had a fake certified check, it looked real and the buyer seemed real. I will take one, but I will check you out. I am ebay varified, that means you can buy ebays buyer protection plan and they will guarantee thats I'm real, they will not guarantee the car.
