We are selling our 2001 Mazda 626 LX. We have owned this car for about 6 years now and it runs well! Our family needs are changing and we need to downsize our automobile needs a bit. The car has about 162000 miles on it, has been maintained faithfully and we have had some recent work done on it, including transmission flush, new belts, new oxygen sensors, new front brake pads and rotors (less than a year old), rebuilt master brake cylinder (about 3 1/2 years ago), new rear tires (about 500 miles ago) and new plugs and oil change also about 500 miles ago. AC and heater work great. The title is clear. The only concerns the car has is that the check engine light comes on intermittently (on for a few days, off for a few days, etc) and has been doing this for about 3 years. When I got it smogged, the mechanic said that it seems to be the sensor behind the catalytic convertor... but I can't get to it. If you are outside of California, you can probably just put in a new convertor for nothing (to be on the safe side). California residents: I am not getting this smogged before I sell it. The car is going to be sold "as-is". Also, the shift lever needs a slight adjustment. To put into Drive, you have to pull back on the shifter a little more than normal so it catches. I think it just needs a cable adjustment. Cosmetically, there is a one inch shallow dent in the roof and some small holes in the headliner (see pictures). And even though the radio works fine, the CD player conked out a few years ago... but it is the stock unit and we all know the first thing you want to do one a car anyway is put in a real sound system! The windshield also has a small bullseye in it too, on the driver's side. This is a very dependable car and has served us really well.
