1974 AMC MATADOR COUPE BROUGHAM Up for auction is a sharp AMC Matador Coupe. This old-school AMC muscle car is ready to be driven. 2 door AMC's are getting harder to find and when's the last time you saw a Matador Coupe? This one's powered by the AMC 360 and a 3 speed automatic transmission. I would feel comfortable driving this old AMC anywhere. The previous owner spent almost 3k on engine and tranny improvements and it shows. You'll note by the engine pics it has headers and a Holley double pumper. She fires right up and drives great. Excellent top end acceleration. Idle is right on the mark. Stops good and drives very nice. Has power steering and brakes. Has a newer HD radio that works. The Matador has a nice deep sounding exhaust: not loud or tinny. Mechanically, the AMC is excellent but it has a few small issues the new owner should be aware of. The wipers do not work. The horn does not work. The dash gauges do not work, but the clock does! The car has had some body work and a repaint. The previous owner installed aftermarket temp, pressure, alt and tach gauges and they all work fine. The driver side window needs some help rolling back up but rolls down fine. Rubber is good but has some weather checking. Miles are exempt and unknown for a car this age. Of course the interior has some rips, but appears original. This is a great car you can drive right now and work on improvements while getting some fun out of it! I have received a number of questions and would like to take the time to answer them in the auction. The glass is all good with no cracks or chips noted. The headliner is excellent. As the pics show, the paint is good but has some clear coat peel/fading. The bodywork, is good but could have been better in a couple of small spots. Yes the heat blower works, but the car never runs much more than warm. The buzzer (seat belt/door open) sounds lightly when the car is put in gear. No engine warning or idiot lights are on. The sunroof does not leak. The engine does not smoke or leak and neither does the tranny or rear end. Yes, it starts in even cold weather.
