Here we have a 1973 Alfa Romeo GTV that has had its roof removed and finishing touches added to make a GTC clone. Why? This car had a tree fall on it about 20 years ago, putting a big dent in the roof, in Berkeley California resulting in a salvage title (they were worth about $2500 for a good one back then) and the need to do something with it to make it drive-able. The enterprising then-owner decided to cut the top off, replicate the GTC style fittings and roll with it. Fenders were flared slightly, a small hood scoop was added and a soft top was constructed. It was driven for many years in town as you see it -though only about ten thousand miles, before being sold and disappearing for a while. Here it is again. The engine runs and the car drives. It has had some work started but not finished around the steering column and the Spica airbox is off. Paint is starting to peel around the flares and it has a little rust here and there that looks to be the result of poor paint prep rather than out-and-out regular rust. If you ever wanted to make a GTC clone out of a 2 liter GTV, this is your chance to do it, without disturbing your conscience by cutting up a car. Basically needs someone to take it to the next level. As you can see from the pictures, it is presentable but in need of TLC. Noteworthy good parts: Has a pre-72 gasket type windshield with correct trim in nice shape. Is on a set of 105 hubcap type Giulia wheels, recently serviced good running engine.
