1968 Barracuda SuperCuda Concept X show car This is a one off custom ground up new build starting with a rust free West Virginia car. It was built to emulate the iconic Superbird using the lighter weight Barracuda body instead of the larger Road Runner body. This car is 1 1/2 feet shorter then a Superbird and approximately 8" narrower. All body work was done with metal and not fiberglass or bondo! Rear wheel lips where lowered 2 inches, custom made rear bumper and tail light panel, rear wing is custom and was fabricated from metal as is the front end. Packing a 440 motor with the Six Pack carbs and the 727 automatic transmission linked to an 8 3/4" rear end. Custom 440 + 6 air cleaner. Custom fit TTI headers that go under the car without any modifications. 3" exhaust that comes out in front of the rear wheels. Heavy duty hemi torsion bars, aluminum radiator, dual electric fans, American Racing wheels, 17" front and 18" rear. In dash tach, 150 mph speedometer. Custom gas cap that you must spin to remove. New dash with custom white face gauges. Power trunk lock, inside hood release. Bucket seats with console. The paint is show car quality with the door jams and trunk jams and under the hood painted with the rest of the body so there are no tape lines. Then colored wet sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. The trunk is finished also.The list goes on and on. Too many new parts to list. The build took over 3,500 man hours at a cost of over $100,000. The color is special to this car, it is called SuperCuda green. The headlights are located on both sides of the grille along with the turn signals. In the rear are LED tail lights and turn signals. This build was completed in September 2011 and was featured at the Indiana's Mecum Auction. Other then being at Mecum the car has yet to be shown.
