PERFECT TOW VEHICLE 1998 Ford E350 Starcraft Conversion Van This is a very rare model. I have looked all over to get an idea of pricing, but have not found anything like it. The combination of a large extended van with a reliable horse of a diesel engine and the luxury of a beautiful well cared for Starcraft Conversion van, would be exactly the ticket for someone that needs the space, power and luxury. It was very expensive when first custom made by Starcraft and because of the design and classic style, has held onto its value I have used this Van for a tow vehicle since 2004 and have put about 20,000 miles on it taking 1-3 50 mile to 1000 mile trips a year. It has about 127,000 miles total on it now, and because of the shape that it is in, it should have many more. I have had it serviced at the Ford Dealership often and recent. It had a new transmission in 2005, and a new starter last year. The tires are almost new (see the picture) and it has 2 new batteries. It runs great and pulls like a horse. My Travel Trailer is light, which makes it easy for the van because it has a 10,000 lb pulling capacity. All of the original manuals are there along with the conversion details. It has everything that you can cram into a luxury vehicle of this vintage. I have never used some of the accessories that it has, and although I don’t know of anything that is wrong with them, I can’t guarantee that they won’t need some tweaking. For example the TV could probably still be used with the VHS, but would need some type of “box” to pick up stations these days. I will make a list from the Conversion information booklet at the end. Since I used it for towing, and installed the electric power brake system. I took the third row Power Sofa out (see pictures). All of the parts that I removed are there, and should be easy to reinstall. It reclines into a bed for the rear area but I had no use for that and could use the space. So for now, I have a custom RUBBER mat that fits the rear behind the second row of captain’s chairs to the rear door (see pictures). This has protected the rug and makes it easy to slide in the chairs and tables that we might take on a camping trip. The body is in good shape and has had no major damage. There are a lot of scratches (see the front plastic panel-this is the worst). The Varnished Wood areas show use, especially on the back door at the “bar and snack” area (see pictures).
