I have owned this beautiful ultimate driving machine for almost 3yrs now, and has really enjoyed every bit of this toy especially the power it brings; the reason why I am selling this car is because my family size is increasing which requires an SUV. This 2000 BMW 740iL is fully loaded with navigation,heated and cooled luxury seating package, rear side window and back shades,glossy,ebony dark wood trim, sunroof, front ,side, and rear airbags, gray nappa leather.(highest grade bmw leather). I do have the entire history of this car' maintenance, I have spent a lot of money on this car since I acquired it, Drivebelts, hoses, waterpump, brakes and rotors have all been changed which means they all have a very long life on them This sedan is powered by BMW's 4.4L V8 and 5 speed automatic transmission. The aluminum V8 features variable valve timing allowing the engine to produce 282 hp and 325 lb/ft of torque with a wide, smooth power band. The engine in this 740iL starts up smoothly, runs well, and provides plenty of power. The automatic transmission shifts butter smooth and effortlessly. The suspension is tight, yet comfortable. There are no shakes, pulls, or clunks. The suspension lets this big sedan handle like a car half its size. The ABS brakes are very strong. This vehicle is equipped with DSC traction control. The "Anthrazit Metallic" dark grey paint is in average condition for a high end luxury car of this age and mileage. As you can see in the picture, there was a paint job on the hood that i tried to do myself but didnt end successfully but not too bad. Also the driver side passenger door has a hardly noticeable dent from a drunk neighbor touching it during parking. There is no paint fade or peeling. The glass and lights are all in good condition, not cracked or broken. The "M" style 18" alloy wheels are in good shape, not scratched up or curbed and are a nice upgrade from the original 7 series rim. This car comes with almost new Michelin tires. The supple leather interior is gray and in very good condition for the age of this car. The front seats are heated and are power (Memory seats). The wear and tear is consistent with a car of this age, the glovebox handle has snapped but functions ok with the red thread (see pic). This car is equipped with the widescreen navigation unit/premium stereo. The almost 6" wide, multifunction display screen is clear and does not have any dead spots or discoloration. The nav program is fully functional (I have personally used this nav for the almost three years period that I have acquired this motor). The premium stereo sounds excellent and has AM/FM, cassette and CD changer. There is a cassette adaptor to plug into your auxilliary devices like ipods and smartphones. The power windows, power locks, keyless entry, alarm, power mirrors, and sunroof all work properly. The dual zone climate control allows you to keep one side of the car warmer than the other and automatic temperature control keeps the interior at a predetermined temperature. The xenon headlights light the road ahead amazingly without blinding oncoming drivers. This car is equipped with the cold weather package: heated leather seats (front and rear), heated steering wheel (the greatest idea ever!), heated mirrors, and rear defroster. It is also equipped with the hot weather package: automatic climate control, sun screens, power rear sunshade, auxiliary cooling. I replaced the motor in this car after my friend blew my head gasket and messed up the engine. After the installation of the used engine with 98k miles, there is sometimes the engine cranking a few seconds before it starts. I have since taken it to several European auto mechs but they cant find any bad codes in their diagnostics. However, I have used this car since the installation with no big deal. For the past 13months or so, I realized that my reverse gear wasnt as sharp as should be after a considerable drive during the day, you might wanna time the accelerator to get a full swing . This is not the case when the car is cooled down. My mechanic has checked the transmission thoroughly and everything seems fine. These are issues that can be hidden easily from any buyer but i bekieve its only fair to let any bidder or buyer aware beforehand. Its my personal vehicle and I use it more than twice everyweek commuting from Statesboro to Warner Robins in Georgia (250miles altogether) BID WITH CONFIDENCE!
