Vehicle Detail
1961 CHEVROLET BISCAYNE I purchased this car to restore because I had one just like it way back in my high school years. Unfortunately, my wife pointed out that, in her opinion, I already had enough projects to work on. She said, "either it goes or she goes". After serious consideration of her offer and consultation with the highest authority, I've decided to let the old girl go...............the car that is. This car has its good points and bad. One good point is that it is a somewhat rare body style, (you don't see to many 2 door Biscayne's). In addition, the car runs, drives, stops, and steers. It has functional headlights, taillights, brake lights, dash lights and turn signals. It has a 350 engine and a 350 automatic transmission. The engine has an Edlebrock high rise manifold and a Holley carb. It also has a tilt steering column, mag wheels and pretty nice bumpers. As you can see from the photos, the body is pretty straight, and the frame is solid. The front fenders, hood, doors trunk lid, and roof are all pretty decent. The interior was re-done at some point. The door panels and the headliner are in good condition, but the seat bottoms have tears. Most of the bad points center around the rust issues. Someone did a very poor job of trying to repair floor rust, as you can see in one of the photos that shows several sheet metal screws projecting from the bottom of the car. So, in a nutshell, the car needs rust repair in the foot wells of the floor, the lower portion of the trunk, the rockers, and portionsof the rear quarters. The windshield has a couple of line cracks, but the rest of the glass is good. I've tried to describe the car with as much detail as I could. All in all I believe the car, being somehwat of a rare body style, has great potential. It does need a good amount of rust repair, but it has its good points as well. It all depends upon what the next owner decides. I have set a reserve price, but please don't aske what that is. Just know that it is pretty reasonable and fair for this car.
