Vehicle Detail

Its time for you to own a few tons of American built history. This is a 1972 GMC Jimmy with a 350 crate motor and a 400 automatic transmission. The motor has approximately 35k miles on it; the truck has an unknown number of total miles. The odometer reads 50k, and I do not know the total number of miles on the vehicle. The transmission runs strong and has no known defects or leaks. The truck locks into 4 wheel drive smooth and solid, while the floor shifter is solid and shifts smooth. The front tire center lug has been recently removed by a mechanic and the four wheel drive gears were inspected, with everything appearing solid and functioning properly. The truck has been parked for several months with periodic starts and moves. It was registered for approximately one year during the time I have owned it. The water pump was replaced and a front stabilizer bar was installed to tighten up the steering. The automatic column shifter should be checked as it moves a bit. All lights are working; however, two side light trim rings have come off, and the driver side mirror is cracked. The left turn signal return does not work, so until the return mechanism is fixed the buyer will have to manually return the turn signal to neutral. It drives good, runs strong, and does not burn oil. With a 3 inch lift and 33 inch tires, it felt a little loose, so a stabilizer was installed on the front suspension, and it tightened it. The steering is much more responsive with it. With only a few minor dings and scratches that I can not get in the photos, this truck is a real beauty. A clean, white hard-top surrounds the paint matched roll bars. All the weatherstripping is in solid and in good shape. The after market front leather seats are in great shape with no tears. The back seat appears original and very clean. All seat belts are in place and appear to function properly. There is a 5 disc CD player and stereo set inside the wood center console-not original. Presently the stereo is not working and I do not know what is wrong with it. I may be able to fix it, and if I do I will update the listing to reflect that. The tires are in ok shape, but they look like they have some cracks from age, although they also have a lot of tread left. This will have to be the buyers responsibility. The wipers work like they should, as well. The factory stereo is not in place, however. This appears to be a factory air vehicle, but the air is not hooked up. I have never had it hooked up and have not checked it to see if it is fully functional. The interior is clean, floors are free of holes and or tears. The gas guage works, but it is not accurate or reliable. I keep it full and watch the miles. As for the originality of the truck and its components, I do not know what has been replaced, modified, altered, or changed from the factory. I know that the interior was cleaned up and new materials were put in and it was painted. It is very clean inside and out. There is no rust anywhere on the vehicle and it looks like all the panels are original. There is a very subtle vibration from what sounds like the muffler, but I can not tell for sure. It is not major, but is is there, however minor. I'll reserve the right to update this if there is anything positive or negative that I find. If I have missed anything I will update this listing. I have listed everything that I can think of and everything I know about the truck. The minor issues listed above do not take away from the overall presence and integrity of this steel machine. I have tried my best to be accurate and informative, and if you have any questions, then please fire away. The buyer will be responsible for transporting this vehicle. Buyer to contact seller after bid closing to arrange picking up the vehicle.
