1962 Chrysler 300 Sport Coupe only 15,431 Miles The History This car was purchased in 1962 by a local woman named Mrs. Anderson. She drove it until 1965 when she became ill, only having put 15,431 miles on it. A short time later she passed away and her son left the vehicle in the garage. During the early 80’s a collector friend of mine who was quite elderly told me of the Red ’62 300 with low miles and told me where the car was located. In the early 90’s the garage started to lean. The car was moved outside and the Garage was torn down. A piece of stockade fence was put up in front of the car to block the view of it from the road, if you knew what it was you could make it out thru the slits in the fence. In early 2000 I stopped to ask about the car. Mrs. Anderson’s son, 60+ years old at that time, emerged from the house and yelled obscenities at me, so I left. In mid 2000 the son was placed in a state run home and the house was sold by the family and the car was taken by one of the grandson’s. He had the car towed on a flatbed to his back yard where it sat. Someone had stolen the Grille Emblem, Radiator, and a kid that lived next door shot the rear glass with a BB gun and broke it. Following the rear window being broken I was contacted and asked if I wanted to purchase it and I jumped on it. Once I got it home I realized that it was going to be really involved to restore and perhaps this car would make an excellent parts car for someone. Condition During the time outside, water had entered the car and caused rust holes in the floor pans. There are also small rust holes in some of the exterior sheet metal. This vehicle is all original paint and it only has one small dent in the Left Fender that I noticed. The Fenders, Doors and Quarter Panels are very straight. I could not find one stone chip in the Windshield. There are no splits in the dash pad. It came with the original tires, dry rotted and flat. I am absoutely convinced that the mileage is correct @ 15,431. Terms The title was lost long ago. I will supply a Bill of Sale. If the vehicle sells I will have 4 used tires installed so it will roll and if given a date and time for pickup I will get help to assist in the loading for transport.
