Vehicle Detail
Hi Folks, Up for grabs is a well maintained Jetta A3 GLX VR6 that is fully loaded. It is an unmolested very original example of an ultracool 90's car. I am a huge fan of 80s and 90s era cars, having owned several BMW's, Benz diesels, VW tdi and Porsches of this vintage. MECHANICAL: The VR6 engine purrs like a kitten with good power throughout the rev range. Has a smooth quiet idle. The 5 speed transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. I routinely get 30MPG on the highway and average 27mpg with combined city/highway driving. AC and heat work great. Following are some service highlights showing thorough maintenance. - Smooth shifting clutch without any slips. - About 6 months ago, spent $1400 on suspension and oil leaks - 115k mi - New Front Koni Struts - rears are included. Ball joints replaced. - Replaced right control arm bushing. - Replaced valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket. - Replaced water pump - 110k mi - $460 - replaced right lower control arm and CV shaft - 108k mi - $837 - Replaced EGR secondary injection valve, ignition wires and spark plugs. - 102k mi - $1033 - Replaced AC compressor/ drier, expansion valve. - 83k mi - $1900 spent on replacing cooling system , thermostat, full tune-up, brake pads/rotors all around. Left control arm bushing and front springs need replacing eventually. There is a small oil leak by the oil filter housing. EXTERIOR: Original siver paint is in great shape for age. There is no oxidation. There are a few small dings and scratches around the car that I have pictured. - NO rust at all, being a Texas car - which is very rare in these Jettas. NO FLOOD. - 15" OEM Bugatti alloys in good shape - tires have about 80% tread left. - No cracks in the windshield. - Rear OEM mud flaps. - Missing left dummy lens. INTERIOR: The black leather interior is in great shape. The driver's bolster has no tears. No dash cracks. - AC and heat work great. - Factory moonroof - Headliner in good shape. - Heated front seats. - Front and rear driver's window regulator replaced. Passenger front inoperative. - Few small tears in the rear seat center section. - Bose stereo works fine. In summary, you are getting a very good example of a cool 90's VW that will continue to keep its value, while providing years of motoring fun. It is not a new car, nor is it perfect. It has the typical squeaks and rattles that define VWs. It is a very good driver though. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
