Vehicle Detail
I just bought this Legend form the original owners about 3 weeks ago. My wife and I have a newer Toyota Sequoia SUV and we've put 50,000 miles on it in 2 years. So we bought this Acura to take some of the miles off the Sequoia. But we are so used to the huge SUV that neither one of us feel that we can get used to driving this small coupe. I have only taken it out a time or two and it has stayed in my garage. It's registered and insured but we just won't use it. Let me first state that the previous owners had it serviced exclusively at the dealer. They had it last Pennsylvania State inspected in July 2011 so it is good until 2012. I have some of the dealer invoices that they gave me.Let me tell you what they have had done in the last 8000 miles- New full set of fuel injectors, rear brake pads, valve cover gaskets, power steering hose, trans mount, front and side motor mounts, alternator and belt, brake master cylinder and fluid change,a/c compressor and conversion to R-134A freon. I have the dealer receipts for all these items. Most of this stuff was done within the last 7000 miles. Some as recent as 1000 miles. The body and paint are real nice. You can see the shine in the photos. I have include a photo of the only area of rust. It's at the end of each rocker panel in front of the wheel wells. It's the same on both sides. I sanded it with a sanding disk and put some rustoleum rust converter over the pitted area. I was going to put a skim of bondo in pitted area prime and paint to match. It's so low on the car that you don't even notice it. But let me assure you it is not rusted through in these two spots. That's why I took a close up pic. The rest of the body is rust free and really nice. The interior is great. Cloth, not leather and not a rip. The carpets are nice with a little staining that will probaby come clean with something like Resolve carpet cleaner. The dash is near perfect as are the door panels and headliner. All the electrics work except the power antenna. The rear windows go down but need help coming up. The sunroof works well. I have the original owners manual and of course the aforementioned receipts. They gave me a Carfax of the vehicle when I bough it and it showed no accidents. The engine sounds and runs beautifully. The trans shifts well and at faster speeds it is a bit firm or sharp from 1st to 2nd. There is no slippage in the trans. I haven't driven it far but I am sure the new owner can drive it home with no problems. I would change the front brake pads, though. I hear a little squeal from the front ones. The rear ones have about 8000 miles on them; not much at all. The tires all have very good tread on them. And it is PA state inspected until next July. Send me your questions and I will do my best to answer them. It's in my garage and since I have put it up for sale I will leave it there until the new owner comes and gets it. One thing before I forget- it does have a drip of oil that it leaves on my garage floor. It's small spot and I have not explored it. But I guess if it's 25 years old it's bound to have some fluid drips. I have had a couple people ask about the timing belt and water pump. I didn't get the receipt for that but the original owners told me that they followed every scheduled maintenance and that the timing belt had been done as scheduled by the dealership. I just don't have all the receipts they ever had for all the work done. Also there are a couple places below the rear window where some clearcoat has flaked off. Two spots about the size of a half dollar and a small area on the drivers side "c" pillar. They are not that noticeable and do not detract from the car.
