Vehicle Detail

2006 Dodge Sprinter, 450,000 miles. I have has for over 200,000 miles, ran as a shuttle van. Frustrating part, after we were told the engine was blown, we were told that the oil cooler makes similar oil in water problem.. The oil cooler was bad and when the engine "blew" we had no compression or power issues. I did all maintenance, so let me tell you what is good or bad. Passed CHP undercarriage inspection 3 months before she was shut down. The lift is up on a fancy jack system and test everything. All steering components, tie rods etc are great. We had a slight valve cover leak that we had to fix and clean the side of the engine. I put 16 inch wheels from a larger sprinter on it so it doesn't drive so much like a golf cart, if you've driven the 2500, you know what I mean. In the last year I have replaced.... Turn Signal unit on steering wheel, heater/a/c unit in cab (had temp sensor that went bad so we replaced and additionally the heater control unit in the engine compartment), I have put in a new compressor for a/c and recharged, brakes are good, ceramics, tranny was serviced as was pumpkin, I replaced the alternator with a one step up from OEM, the egr unit, passed smog perfectly. In addition, every month i would treat with lucas products for fuel injection, I used lucas in the oil two and changed oil about every 8,000 miles with Delvac, bout every two-three weeks. I did engine flushes regularly and when we got into the engine, you could eat off the heads. No sludge, crud at all. It has never been in an accident and I took pictures of any scratches I could see. The paint is a one pass blue, that used to be yellow underneath, and white underneath that. The paint doesn't look bad, but it would be on my to do list eventually. I have left the "rack" that we built in the center console, can be adapted to a laptop or anything else, bolts on/off. Turbo is fine, engine didn't use hardly any oil, tranny works fine. It needs an engine. I was quoted by Rancho Jeep/Dodge here in San Diego, 8k for the new engine. That is a rebuild 5 cylinder with the labor to get it back together. Check online and I see the engines for about $5k to $5.5k for the ones I would buy. If you are going to part it out, check the details. I have seen used parts such as the seats, for $1,200 each (threes), there are 5 fuel injectors, $400 each, compressor, alternators, the glass on the sides are very expensive, 2k for the glass to make a cargo into passenger. We are moving out of state and I don't have the time, too expensive to tow with me, and have accepted I will never have the money to get up and going. But that is what I would do. I would run this as a personal vehicle forever.... seriously 23-26 mpg If you have any questions, please email before buying. I will work with a shipper. It has to be gone within 7 days of purchase, deposit within 72 hours of winning bid. I have had bad luck selling cars on ebay, if you flake, I will work with ebay to get fees for the winning bid, which is often over $150. Please, you buy it, you own it.
