Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1980 Chevy pickup 2WD, regular cab, short bed, fleetside. It has been my toy/project for a couple years. I bought it, got it running, worked on it as I drove it, and then decided the engine was really junk. I looked up the numbers and found it was a 307. It was making angry noises anyway, so I decided to replace it. I put a 1969 350 4 bolt main short block in it I found for 300 bucks used. I put a new Comp Cams 268 cam in it and new lifters. It has a new timing chain and gears. It has new head bolts holding down a set of 305 heads with guide plates, screw in studs, roller rockers, and topped off with tall valve covers. It has a Edelbrock aluminum intake 2101 and a Edelbrock carb 600 CFM. The ignition is MSD Pro Billet distributor with a Blaster coil and 6AL box. The headers are ceramic coated. The dual exhaust is stainless and exits behind the rear wheels. The power steering box is new. Water pump is new. Alternator is new. Fuel pump is new. Radiator is new. Belts and hoses are new. The blower fan motor is new. The core support and battery tray are new. The old ones were rotted. Common for these trucks. The right fender is aftermarket new. The cowl hood is new. The billet grille is new. The right inner fender is new. Both doors have been replaced with decent ones from the junkyard. The seat has cigarette burns all over it, but isnt ripped and the springs and foam are good. The windshield is cracked but all the other glass is good. The cab floor is only in fair shape. It has rust in it, but doesn't have any huge holes in it. Just some areas where it is sort of perforated. I have replacement floor pans, inner rockers and kick panels I will throw in. I have a new brown carpet I will throw in, and a new brown dash pad. Generally speaking, the interior is pretty shabby. The transmission is a freshly rebuilt 700R4 overdive unit. It works well. I drove for a few months with it. The front steering linkage, ball joints, bushings and so forth are all new. It has tubular control arms. The lower control arms are 3" lowering arms. The stock ones are still in the bed if you want them. The front springs are 2" drop springs. I have new stock shocks that go with it, but they won't work if you want to keep it dropped. The brake calipers, pads and hoses are new. The rear bumper has been removed and a rear roll pan is installed. I did not drop the rear end yet. The body is in pretty good shape at this point. It spent its whole life up until 3 months ago in Arkansas. So rust was not a huge thing for this southern truck. It is currently located in Chadds Ford, PA 19317. It has spent its time up here in the garage. It spent most of the time I owned it in Arkansas in the garage. It does not run at this point. I hurried to get the engine in the truck and the front clip back on because I was moving. I tried to start it, but I ran out of time. The cam still needs to be broken in when the truck does start. It has a flex plate/starter motor problem and it won't engage the starter now. Also I believe the distributor is 180 degrees out. But I have not time to play with it since work consumes my life. I bought a new car, and I need the garage space for it. So I am putting a $1000 price on the truck with no reserve. Hopefully someone would like a nice project to fool around with, and I can have my garage. As you can imagine, I have WAY more money in this truck than $1000. But it's gotta go. I'm not interested in the money, I just need my garage. So come and steal this toy from me, and enjoy it in your spare time like I wish I could! Happy bidding, and Happy Holidays!
