Vehicle Detail

Vintage 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe Only 18,651 Original Miles! This 1966 Ford Mustang, 2-door, hardtop coupe is in exceptional condition. She is a true "blast-from-the-past" and would be perfect for anyone interested in a genuine original Ford Mustang. This car only has 18,651 original miles. It features factory-installed air conditioning, 3-speed on the floor, and a 289 v8 engine that still runs like a dream. Other than some touch-ups, the car still sports the original paint. Everything works on this Mustang right down to the window washer fluid. Because the car has been well maintained over the years, all the lights, horn and turn signals work. The air conditioner works, but could use a charge of freon. I am the 3rd owner of this car. I was told by the previous owner that this car has been in numerous car shows throughout the United States, and as such, has been trailered most of its life. Most of the mileage on this car is from the driving that took place while at the car shows. In 2005, the car appraised for $15,000. For the past five years, the car has remained garaged. This car has been well maintained over the years. The 2nd owner, who purchased the car in 1979, kept receipts for all the work done. Some of these receipts recorded the mileage on the car at the time the work was done. On January 15, 1986 a receipt shows the mileage for this car to be 10,002. On October 26, 1988 the mileage was at 13,163. On May 24, 1993 the mileage was at 14,929 and today it sits at 18, 638. Those receipts showing this mileage are posted below. In addition, there are numerous other receipts that will go with the car, but are not shown in this listing. I am told the 2nd owner of this car had a lot of money and he spent a lot of money on this car to make it perfect for his wife. That may explain why he rebuilt the engine soon after he bought it. There are a couple of handwritten pages from the 2nd owner about some of the work done on this car, when it was purchased, who it was purchased from, and the mileage on the car at that time. These handwritten records, along with all of the receipts, are an excellent record of the history of this car and are an added bonus. Pictures of these handwritten notes along with pictures of the car itself, both inside and out, are shown below. Also included with this car are some books pertaining to the Ford Mustang. Those are pictured as well. Click on any of the thumbnail images to bring up the full-size picture. The car recently had a safety inspection and the paperwork for that is pictured below. Some minor leaks were found, but it was decided the leaks were too slight to jeopardize replacing the original parts. The undercarriage was cleaned at that time and pictures of that area are shown below. There is no rust on this car except for surface rust on the exhaust system. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You will never again find a vintage Ford Mustang with such low mileage and in such excellent condition. If you are a Mustang enthusiast , then don't let this rare, one-of-a-kind, vintage car slip away.
