1956 Ford Town Victoria Fordor Hardtop. 57A. This is a rare body style and Ford's first year for a four door (no post) hardtop. Southern car (from 1958-61 when the owner lived in North Carolina) with 45,935 original miles. 292 Y-Block V-8,Fordomatic Automatic Transmission,Power Steering. Platinum Grey & Colonial White exterior,Black Cloth & White Vinyl interior. I purchased this car in July,2007 from the grandson of the original owner. The car was only on the road for six years and then was in storage from 1962-2007.It is debatable about whether or not the family did the car any favor by not running it for that long.The car needed a LOT of time and money spent on it to be dependable and safely roadable again. Since I bought the car much,much work was necessary which includes the following;Re-done heads with hardened valves and valve seats (so unleaded fuel could be used),Rebuilt Fordomatic transmission,Recored radiator,New gas tank,Major tune-up including plugs,points,distributor cap,rotor,coil resistor,coil,All new brakes (steel & flex lines,wheel cylinders,master cylinder,shoes and drums turned),New dual exhaust,New tires,New battery and cables,New belts,New heater hoses and new heater control valve,Rebuilt wiper motor and new vacuum hoses,New Power Steering hoses. The car has a solid body with original floors,trunk,front crossmember,etc..All glass is good. Presentable original paint,chrome and interior (driver's seat bottom has some seam splits). Drives,steers and stops well. Overall,this is NOT a show car but is a hard to find original survivor which you can drive as-is or upgrade things as you choose. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY.
