1970 Triumph Bonneville

Up for auction is a 1970 Triumph Bonneville T 120 RT. It is one of 204 made in 1970. In the year 1970 Triumph wanted to race 750 cc Bonneville's , the AMA told Triumph to make 200 of the bike,in order to race them. They made 204. These were bikes that were shipped here and at Port of Entry the crates were open end and the 650 cc jug was replace with a 750 cc Sonny Routt jug. Then they stamped a T after the T120R. I have the certificate from the AMA stating that this is 1 of the 204 made. Engine and frame numbers match. This bike has been taken completely down and restored. Engine was taken completely down and rebuilt. There are new 40 over Pistons from MAP. The internal were gone through ,sludge trap cleaned,everything replaced as needed and put back together. New wheels and tires. Everything that could be powder coated was done in loss black. Tank and fenders were done in astral red and silver,and striped in gold.Paint was purchased from Don Hutchinson. Gauges were sent out and rebuilt.I only drove the bike last Summer about 84 miles.Engine runs great and trans shifts as it should.Everything on this bike was either restored or replaced. Too many items to list. The reason for selling is I have more projects to finish and I need the room. The major part of the restoration was done by a Former Triumph Mechanic with 50 years experience. They show the routt logo,the allen head bolt.and the part number. The part number is hard to see because the original jugs were stamped from Sonny Routt. The part number is E 4546.
