1959 PLYMOUTH SUBURBAN 6 PASSENGER STATION WAGON. THE MODEL IS SUBURBAN CUSTOM, THIS CAR IS JUST MOMENTS AWAY FROM BEING THE RAT ROD, NOT JUST a RAT ROD. IT HAS THE 318 V-8 ENGINE , 2 BBL CARBURETOR AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, THE TAILGATE IS ELECTRIC AND OPERATES QUITE NICE. THE OVER ALL CONDITION OF THE BODY IS EXTREMELY UNRUSTED AND UNDENTED, AS IS THE CHASSIS. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN MODIFED WITH DISC BRAKES IN FRONT AND A MODERN POWER BRAKE BOOSTER THERE IS VERY -VERY MINOR RUST ON THE LOWER REAR FENDERS TOWARD THE REAR WHICH GIVEN THE YEAR OF THE CAR I CONSIDER NEAR NONE AND I HATE RUST...MOST OF THE TAILGATES IN THESE YEAR MODELS ARE RUSTED OUT, THIS HAS ONLY INTERNAL SURFACE RUST. THE SPARE TIRE ACCESS PANEL BEHIND THE RIGHT REAR TIRE HAS A TEAR IN IT FROM?? BUT IT'S REMOVABLE AND SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM TO REPAIR. THE REST OF THE BODY IS PRETTY MUCH DENT FREE.A THE SELLER TOLD ME THERE WAS A 'DIME SIZED SPOT OF RUST ON THE FLOOR BOARDS, NOT ACCURATE- WHILE IT ISNT AS BAD AS MANY THERE ARE SOME AREAS IN THE FEET WELL AREAS, FRONT AND REAR SEATS THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED, THE WELL AT THE REAR IS IN QUITE NICE CONDITION, AGAIN MY BIGGEST ISSUE WITH CAR'S IS RUST,WITH TIME AND $$ I'D LOVE TO GET INTO THIS CAR BUT... I ONLY RECENTLY GOT THIS CAR THINKING IT WAS IN BETTER RUNNING CONDITION THAN IT REALLY IS, SOLD TO ME AS A RUNNING CAR THAT COULD BE DRIVEN, I'LL SAY IT RUNS BUT NOT WHAT I'D CONSIDER A DRIVER. WITH MY AGE IN CONSIDERATION IT IS MORE THAN I CAN UNDERTAKE TO RESTORE- WHICH IT NEEDS AND I CANNOT PROVIDE WITH MY LIMITED BUDGET, I BOUGHT IT OUT OF PASSION, NOT REALITY. THE INTERIOR NEED'S EVERYTHING THE FRONT SEAT IS GONE AND IT HAS SOME BUCKET SEATS FROM?? IN IT. THE ENGINE RUNS, THE WATER PUMP LEAKS, THE ENGINE HAS A MISS WHICH I BELIEVE IS SPARK PLUG WIRES OR PLUGS. THE HEATER HAS BEEN REMOVED AS WAS MOST OF THE HEATER CONTROLS, THE PUSH BUTTON SHIFTER WORKS-KINDA, IT NEEDS LUBRICATION AND ADJUSTMENT AND SHOULD WORK BETTER. THIS WAS TO BE MY LAST HURRAH IN CAR'S, IT ISN'T GOING TO WORK OUT THAT WAY. IT HAS A CLEAN CALIFORNIA TITLE, WHERE IT WAS SUPPOSEDTO HAVE BEEN STORED FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS STORED IN PHOENIX AZ AREA, IT IS IN PRIMER NOW AND THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHROME TRIM OTHER THAN WHAT IS ON THE CAR- THE GRILL IS DIRTY BUT NICE CONDITION AS ARE THE BUMPERS IN ORIGINAL CHROME CONSIDERING THE YEAR OF THE CAR. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE BACK DOOR DRIVER SIDE TO OPEN, I FELT AND STILL FEEL IT IS WORTH THE PRICE AND WILL MAKE A BEAUTIFUL WAGON FOR SOMEONE. IF I WAS 40- OR 50- MAYBE 60 I'D CONSIDER TRYING TO MAKE IT INTO SOMETHING SPECIAL AS I BUILT THE '62 DODGE DART STATION WAGON INTO A 2 DOOR HARDTOP AND INSTALLED A 426 HEMI, I KNOW MOPAR. ITS DUSTY, HAS SOME CRACKS WINDOWS, BUT AGAIN IT IS NEAR RUST AND DENT FREE - ONE OF BEST RUST FREE BODY'S I'VE SEEN FOR AN ORIGINAL BODY. THANKS FOR LOOKING- THIS IS THE LAST TIME IT WILL BE LISTED, I'VE GONE AGAINST MY OWN JUDGEMENT AND LOWERED THE BUY IT NOW AND RESERVE.
