Vehicle Detail
1961 Chevy Suburban former military truck. I bought this truck as a daily driver, a task it has performed admirably. I'm currently still driving daily and am selling to pay off my wife's car. Here are the details: Body:Straight body with some rust in normal areas (see pictures) such as: both front fenders, one rocker, the rear corners of the hood, and one spot behind the rear wheel on the driver side. Over-all its a really solid truck. The suburban specific metal is in really great shape. The front floor does need patch panels but only partials (available through LMC Truck for great prices) The leading edge of the hood does have some damage, in the pics, and the grill is less than perfect. There are also some folds in the leading edges of the both doors where previous owners allowed them to swing to wide. The rear doors, barn door style, are complete including solid glass with all parts still on the doors. Brand new windshield through TechnaGlass. Chassis:Partially updated. I swapped in a clip from a 75 Chevy C10 which ditched the torsion suspension in favor of normal spring suspension. The front clip is very solid and works great. Upgrade also gave the truck DISK BRAKES, which are hooked to a brake booster from an 85 Blazer for POWER BRAKES. Interior:Tan color with the stock bench seat reupholstered in black vinyl. It is comfortable to sit on and looks fantastic. The seat includes the factory 'jump seat' that folds forward for access to the rear. In the pics you will see another bench seat, from an 85 Blazer that comes with the truck (the buckets in the back DO NOT come with it.) Electrical:ALL upgraded with an EZWiring 21 Circuit wiring harness. (Actually WAY more circuits than the trucks needs but might help if you wanted to add power windows and locks and a/c and stuff.) Brand new alternator mounted to the motor as well. Powertrain:Engine is a 283ci small block V8 with Edelbrock intake, 4 barrel carb, and HEI ignition. Exhaust is pushed out through block hugger headers and Cherry Bomb glass packs, dual pipes. (Sounds really nice but not annoying while driving). Motor is a used motor I bought from a friend which I scrubbed clean and painted before installation. The transmission is rebuilt (new at the time of install only a few hundred miles ago with the motor) 700r4 overdrive. This truck cruises the freeway at 80 without breathing hard. Trans shifts strong and doesn't struggle under the weight of the truck (2k stall converter to help the motor stay in power band). I swapped in the engine and transmission to replace a 292i6 and a 4 speed truck trans which is NOT included with the auction but could be purchased separately if you wanted it, just ask. History:All I know about it is that it was a good runner and based on the lettering on the back doors it was a US Army truck at one point. There was a decal on the front bumper that might indicate it was also a US Forest Service truck but I don't know for sure. Shipping:Pickup or buyer arranges shipping. Vehicle MUST BE GONE within 3 weeks of auction end or I relist it. Payment Methods:Paypal (only up to 20% of purchase price with rest due on pickup via one of the other methods.), Bank Check, Other Certified Check, Money Order, of CASH. Payment Instructions:$500 dollars due after auction end (non-refundable). Remainder due within 1 week (7 days) or by pickup/shipment. (The truck DOESN'T LEAVE without money clearing)
