I purchased this 2000 Audi tt for my 23 year old son five years ago. I have on occassion asked him if he wanted to trade for a different car and he always said 'no, this is my car and I love my car'. He has taken good care of it changing the oil every 3000 miles and maintenance as prescribed in the owners manual. I know this because I paid for it all! A few years ago while turning around in a parking lot my sone hit a frozen over snow bank causing the damage as pictured to the front air dam. There is no structural damage, just the the fiberglass panel you see. My son called the other day and said the oil light came on when making a turn so I had him take the car in to have the oil checked. It was not low. With-in the hour he called back and said he hears a ticking noise so he took it to the mechanic who maintains it. He took parts off the motor to check further and determined that the chain to the oil pump had come off. He said that he could go further into the motor to look for damage that may have caused but because of the mileage and the fact that the car may have been starved of oil for any period of time, it may be best to swap out the motor. He owns the ONLY shop in Minot North Dakota that will work on the car. He is losing his mechanic on December 31st and may not have time to swap the motor or even maintain the car in the future. This car deserves to be fixed. It is in no way junk. My options are to ship it to Florida($800) where I am to fix it then sell it or to sell it here. The car has no modifications. It may need a new motor or the original may not be a big deal to fix but due to a mechanic unwilling to look further put me into a place where I don't know what to do. The car was running great until the other day. The tires are only three weeks old. The last picture appears to be of another car but you can see the Audi's rims on the pic. That was the intent for including this picture. The other pictures were recently taken while the car is in the shop. The angles are limited do to the confined space where the car sits.
