Vehicle Detail

This TF is sold by a bill of sale only. got this TF from a man who was friends of the owner so everything I know is second hand. The owner has had the car for over 40 years and it has sat in his barn that housed 7 other cars. He started to take the original motor out and put in a double overhead cam from a MGA along with 5 speed trani. He sold the original engine and trani but never found the MGA engine. He started "collecting" other cars and this car sat in the back of the building. He became a "hoarder" of everything doing with autos and just piled and piled everything on top of his cars. The building never was cared for and the roof collapsed in on the TF. He never would let anybody in the building. He died several months ago and his wife did just as he did. She died a month or so ago and his sons contacted the man I got it from and he sold off all the cars. I got this one because he knew that I loved Morgans and MG's. I have over 50 pics. of the car showing in detail what is here and what is not. I will list the missing: 1). Engine & all parts; 2). transmission and all parts; 3. Nose cowl; 4). raidator 5). Back set (2) side curtains; 6). Windscreen & the right hand post. Most wood is in sad shape. But, there's a few parts that are fine. All steel body panels are there (except the radiator shell) and can be used. the bulkhead plate can be easly fixed as can the foorwell. Both front quarter panels have rust that will need to be repaired along the bottom section. Both steel body frames are OK. Both running boards need fixed, the left may not be fixable. The rear body tie bar looks OK also. The sidecurtain steel frames needs sanded and painted to get rid of the rust. The battery box needs replaced. as does the front splash apron (rear is fine). Both the right and left rear wings has a dent on each one. The left has a much smaller dent than the right. The right side panel to hood will need some work, the left looks OK. The tool box is fine. The scuttle top is fine as is the dash. All gages and instruments are in exceptional shape. The sterring wheel will need to be rebuilt or replaced. Three of the steel wheels are OK. The gas tank is fine on the outside, & I have not looked as to it's shape on the inside. Both top hood panels will need to be smothed out on both the front and rear. But all-in-all they are OK. the front wings are OK. The steel seats are there but the left is in poor shape. It has both door latches except the left cover is missing. The front bumper is damaged. I have both wipper arms. I will check the wipper motor this weekend and see about it. Will post later this weekend. Look closely at pics. and if you do not see what you looking for just email me & I can get back to you. I think I have listed everything. But ????. I checked with Moss to see how much the wood would cost and it came in under $1,000.00. BUT you will need to have skills to "taylor fit" them as all wood parts do. I'm sure someone will need questions answered. I am a retired college instructor I got my 1st MG TF in 1973 and have had about 7 TF's, 3 TD's 1 PA. But I do not remember how many MGA's, Morgans, Jags XK 140's and up, big Healys and Mercedies I have restored but must be in the 40 - 50 over the years. I can put TF's and Morgans together in my sleep. But this one is not an easy do but the wings alone is worth what I have started the acution off at, let alone with the gages and instruments. Parted out this would bring much much more that what I started it off at. I take PayPal and will require a deposit of $300.00. I can also help some with getting it loaded on to your trailer. I can not delever. Over the years I have both sent and received autos from both coasts and sent some back to England can assist in that some. Larry P.S. I forgot to mention that the jack and hand crank for it is there as is the engine crank. I hope that that will make it worth at $1,000,000 more. Good luck Larry I have the TF listed for sale in Tulsa, OK news paper, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time that the $1,2000.00 is not met.
