Vehicle Detail
Your are bidding on a "PROJECT BIKE" (i.e., IT CANNOT BE RUN, OPERATED, DRIVEN OR RIDDEN WITHOUT REPAIRS!) to be sold As-Is with No Claims Or Warranties: This bike has never been wrecked or laid down, has always been covered, and has been ridden just under 1587 miles! Title is clear and in-hand. Sale Includes: (1.) Year Model 2000 Honda Rebel CMX 250-C, (2.) Premium Windscreen, (3.) Two Leather Saddle Bags [unmounted], (4.) Two Brand New Tires & Tubes [unmounted - original tires still on bike], (5.) Motorcycle Cover, (6.) Haynes Service Manual, (7.) Original Owner's Manual, (8.) Two Keys, and (9.) Transfer of Signed Title. Mechanical Issue: Last Spring this motorcycle was driven while low on engine oil (unknowingly) at which point it stalled. Upon restart the right cylinder bank exhaust smoked profusely and the bike could be ridden no further. The bike was then transported by trailer to my home. Once the low engine oil problem was discovered and solved, the engine would turn-over, start and run as described above (i.e., the engine was not seized, frozen or locked-up). I am no mechanic, so I can only presume what engine repairs need to be made before this motorcycle can be operated and be ridden again (e.g., new piston rings and polished cylinder walls, maybe more?). My reason for selling this bike is that I simply do not have the time or inclination to have the damage to its engine assessed and repaired. Therefore, my loss is your gain! Additional Mechanical Observations: Prior to the aforementioned mishap, this motorcycle's carburetor was fully cleaned and outfitted with new O-rings & gaskets. It ran beautifully including a smooth starter, clutch, gear box and brakes (i.e., for approximately 750 miles until the mishap occurred). When last ridden, everything else about this bike operated properly including all lights and electrical system. Additional Notes & Comments: Individuals: Once repaired, this motorcycle will make for a perfect beginner's bike, COMMUTER VEHICLE (UP TO 85MPG!), and Christmas gift! It's truly a joy to ride! Dealers: Price and timing of this auction leaves plenty of room for making repairs and listing this high-demand super-commuter for a profitable Spring sale! BE SURE YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON! ASK QUESTIONS IN ADVANCE AND I'LL ANSWER THEM AS BEST I CAN. ANY SALE IS FINAL. PICK-UP OF MOTORCYCLE MUST OCCUR WITHIN SEVEN BUSINESS DAYS OF FINAL PAYMENT. VEHICLE INSURANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR THIS VEHICLE PRIOR TO PICK-UP. ***BIDDERS*** DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE GIVEN COMPLIANCE WITH EBAY RULES AND/OR STATE LAW. MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN! GOOD LUCK BIDDING!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! On Dec-08-11 at 12:40:15 PST, seller added the following information:Q's Rec'd: Is the engine still running? A: Yes. As of Thurs., 12/8, I fired up the bike and let it run for about 30s. The right cylinder bank still smokes profusely as stated in the ad. I then shut her down in order to do no more damage to the engine. There were no strange noises while running. Thanks for your questions? Happy bidding!
