Vehicle Detail
1975 Honda CB550 - Beautiful original paint I purchased this bike Spring 2010 and it was a big turd. The header was rusted off, long cables and lines from its former life as a chopper I assume. I spent all summer cleaning, polishing, painting, and purchasing the things needed to bring it back to all its glory. The only reason I bought the bike is because the paint on the tank and the side covers was so nice. New Items:Fork sealsThrottle cablesBrake hoseGripsMirrorsNOS Front Fender and points coverBatteryChain The OEM exhaust is in very nice condition. The inside of the tank is like new, carbs have been cleaned thoroughly, new points, plugs, oil changed. The bike has the original air box but has a K&N filter kit installed. Front brake has been cleaned and flushed with a like new rotor. Things it could still use:The electric start does not work, I can't get the button to make contact inside the handlebar switch assembly but it does start with 1 easy kick. The gauges are rough, 1 screw fell out of the speedo face plate so it lays on an angle. The tach works but is slow. There is a little light pitting on some of the chrome, top of the tail light assembly, the rear wheel, the rear fender under the seat and the right rear has some scratches. The seat has 1 tiny tear as seen in the pictures but is hardly noticeable. The chrome piping around the bottom of the seat has seen better days as well. The tires are older Continentals but are in good shape. The paint is beautiful and the side covers are in perfect shape. The tank has a few scratches down by the seat on both lower corners as seen in the pictures. None of the paint has any noticeable fading and shines like new. As you can see I put a lot of time and money into this bike and it should make the new owner very happy. If you have any questions or would like some more pictures let me know.
