Vehicle Detail
Your patience has finally paid off! I have monitored Z50’s for some time now and have not seen one with this kind of documentation. This alone makes it a very RARE find. This is my childhood (one owner) 1971 Honda Z50A MiniTrail that has always been stored in a garage, out of the elements. It is in original condition down to the tires. I believe the only replacement parts besides oil/plug over the years were, if I remember correctly, a few bolts and a throttle cable many, many years ago. Below is the description to the best of my knowledge, including documentation as well as condition. Remember this is being sold “as is” and you will be responsible for pickup. If you have any questions at all, please send me a note prior to bidding. I want to ensure you have an informed decision. Condition: The Good (consider all original): · Seat - NO tears.· Gas tank. NO dents, a few minor chips· Headlight – NO dents. If you look really, really close, it looks like a tiny dent by the mounting bracket. I believe it was delivered in that condition from factory.· Frame – NO cracks, at least that I can see and went over the entire frame.· Engine – SMOOTH running when last ran 2 years ago. Tried to start on 11/23/11, but did not. Got good spark but no gas. I believe the carburetor needs a cleaning. Shame on me for possibly leaving some gas in it.· Transmission – STRONG solid shift through all three gears· Paint – AMAZING for 40 years old. You can tell it was not stored out in the elements· Headlight/Taillight lenses – NO cracks.· Decals/Labels – GREAT shape. One has small corner curl.· Key and functioning ignition switch The Imperfections (remember this is 40 yrs. old. Also, if you ridden one, you know that it vibrates when topping out a gear and I lost a few small parts from vibration) · Don’t have the original spark plug tool that snaps under seat· Missing one of the exhaust shroud covers.· One replacement bolt (of 2) holding headlight to frame.· One replacement bolt on kickstand· Missing bolt from license plate frame to rear fender· Left handlebar is slightly bent, and the quick release knob is broken.· Although the pictures look great, there is some pitting on the chrome and wheels. Look closely.· On license plate frame the paint has some streak marks. However, once again, this appears to come from factory as I did not repaint.· Rear rim has small dent. I drove it once with low tire pressure and hit a bump.· This is what I remember. There may be other, small issues. The Documentation: · Original Bill of Sale· Owners manual (appears to be for 1970, however, that is what was provided at purchase)· Owner’s Warranty Registration Card (still not punched out of mail form)· Official Honda New Owner Introduction Letter· Pennsylvania Certificate of Title (Stamped) – I can’t guarantee, but it sure looks like it.- Honda Trash Bag
