Vehicle Detail

2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab with 5.9L Cummins 24 valve turbo diesel engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. This has been my personal truck since I bought it 3 years ago and has only been used for my own projects. It was never used commercially. I absolutely babied this truck--please see the rest of the description for details. Truck has beautiful original "Amber Fire" paint which was only available for a few years. It also has the Sport package, power windows and locks, leather interior with heated power seats, Cummins exhaust brake, and a Quadzilla chip with digital read-out. It also has 3.55 axle gears for great mileage and a factory limited slip in the rear axle. It has a towing package as well. It's important to note that this truck has never been "hot-rodded" or abused. I used the chip for the digital display and kept it set on power level 3 out of 10 to get the best fuel mileage possible. I always warmed it up in the morning before driving and was religious with oil changes and maintenance. People who ride with me have called me "grandpa" on more than one occasion because of the way I drove it. Everything works properly on this truck. The AC is cold, the heat works, the heated seats work, all the gauges are accurate, the stereo works, etc. Again, I babied it. If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask them. I bought it with extremely low mileage--36k. Because of this I was able to catch all the standard Dodge problems before they happened. Here is a list of the preventative maintenance I did: -I installed a fuel pressure gauge right away to monitor the lift pump and the stock one was still in fine shape. I replaced it anyway with an Airtex replacement pump so there would be absolutely no problems. You'll see the fuel pressure gauge in the ash tray in the pictures below. -I replaced the ball joint on the end of the drag link with a Luke's Link to keep the steering nice and tight. -I installed a lace-on leather steering wheel cover well before the original wore through so that there wouldn't be a thin spot. -I knew that the doors had a tendency to rust so I removed the interior door panels then siliconed and painted the inside of the door skin so it wouldn't rust through. I did this on the bottom of the doors too and they are still in nice shape. -I always ran a 128:1 mix of outboard two-cycle oil in the fuel to protect the injection pump from damage. I'll include a bottle with the truck. The truck will come with the following accessories installed: -Bright auxiliary backup lights wired properly with a relay and a diode. There is a switch on the overhead console to turn them on as worklights. -Hideaway strobe lights in the four corners of the truck (I am a volunteer firefighter) -Work lights in the lid of the toolbox (really handy!) -A plug-in for your ipod attached to the tape adapter -The aforementioned fuel pressure gauge -Stainless steel step bars -35% tint on the front windows -Cupholder on the front of the center console -Deep floor mats for bad weather -Bilstein shocks on all four corners -Tekonsha electric brake controller -Bedliner -Pictured WeatherGuard tool box and System One ladder rack. Truck also comes with the following: two keys and remotes, touch-up paint, extra fuel and oil filters, original air box, original turbo exhaust elbow (removed for exhaust brake), and original fuel lift pump which still works fine. Truck has 2000 miles left on a synthetic oil change and also has synthetic fluid in the rear diff and t-case. The BFG All-Terrain tires are a size larger than stock and are load range E. They're roughly half worn--see the pics. I listed the mileage 100 miles higher than what it has as I'll probably drive it a bit over the next week or so. Here are the only problems with the truck: -The overhead console display will sometimes flash from bright to dim. I don't know why and I just consider it a Dodge-ism -There are a few door dings and dings on the tailgate and rear bumper. -There is a small bubble in the paint halfway up the driver's door. It's probably because of an earlier door ding. -The back left corner of the sheetmetal behind the bumper was dinged so I pulled it and painted it. You don't even notice from the outside of the truck but I thought I should mention it. -Someone scratched the front bumper in a parking lot so they paid to have it repainted at a body shop. It looks great but, again, I thought I should mention it. That's all I can think of. Please ask any questions you might have. I'll fill the fuel tank for the lucky high bidder and pick you up at Newark International Airport (EWR) if necessary. Thanks for looking.
