Vehicle Detail

68 Dodge Charger General Lee, 64 413 v-8 big block(looks like a 440 but I was told by an engine specialist it's a 413 and very valuable, 380HP) 727 torch flight automatic console shift, runs very good. I bought this car because I always wanted a General Lee, I have been putting off selling it for awhile now, just feels like a member of the family. I suppose it's time to let someone else enjoy it. Back to the car, it was a General Lee when I purchased it. The body work and paint had been done before I purchased it, They had replaced the quarter panels, truck pan, patched a few small holes in the floor, and had the car under coated. I believe the paint job is around 8 years old. I'm not sure were the car came from originally, but there is an old California college sticker on the front window(i took a picture of it). Has the correct roll bar in it, Dixie air horns, and the inside of the trunk lid has been signed by the cast and crew of Dukes of Hazard. Now for the weird part of that, I didn't notice this at the time of purchase, but the truck lid is a different shad of orange on the inside, faded from age?? when the car was painted they deliberately masted off the under side of the truck very carefully not to disturb the old paint or the autographs. I know the car was dark green when new in 68, but someone painted the car orange a long while ago, and from further investigation it looks like this car had the Duke of Hazard logo on the roof once before, also some where down the line the tail pan was switched out to a 69 as was the Grill. Now I often wonder if the person that had this car before noticed the truck paint? If so why didn't they point it out to me? For the body condition it looks good but not perfect. The hood has two small spots in it were some body work is starting to show. The paint looks good, but there is some spots that look a little hazy (from dry spray a local body shop said). The interior has had work done on the seats, headliner and carpet. The heater box is not installed in the car, but I have it. On the passenger side of the car I noticed a small spot rusted were the torsion box meets the pinch weld, looks like it was over looked during the restoration(doesn't look fresh). It's easy to reach, doesn't look like a hard repair. For any questions I can be reached at 513-470-9571.
