1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Collectors Edition It is hard to fully describe just how nice this Cruiser is. You could inspect it and go over every inch except the odometer and come up saying, "I would say this thing has about 65,000 miles on it." I have seen many 100,000 mile Cruisers of this era that were nowhere near as nice as this one. I have bought and sold many Land Cruisers over the years, including Fj40s, Fj62s, FZJ80s, and UZJ100s. My uncle bought this Cruiser new in 1997. I have wanted it ever since and told him whenever he wants to sell it, I will buy it. I am a dealer and he came to me when he wanted a new Cruiser. I found a nice 2007 for him and he traded this in on that a few weeks ago. It has been his daily driver since 97. It has been garaged since new. It has been dealer maintained ever since, with no expense spared. Toyota of Augusta, then Jim Hudson Lexus for the last several years. My uncle was the type of owner that when one of the center caps became discolored, he purchased four new ones and had them put on. The left rear door wouldnt lock/unlock, so he took it in and they replaced the actuator. The passenger side seat wouldnt move, so he took it in and they replaced the motor, etc, etc, etc.... I have records for everything from the last several years, and can probably obtain more from Toyota of Augusta. All repairs were minor, never anything major to the engine or transmission. Never anything but Toyota parts were used anywhere. The vehicle needs nothing. It even has a full tank of Premium, Ethanol-free gasoline. 265/75/16 Michelin LTX M/S tires with lots of tread. Original owners manual in Toyota case, complete toolkit, jack, and two Toyota keys with remotes. Original Collectors Edition floor mats. The original wheels have no corrosion or clearcoat peeling anywhere. This Cruiser did NOT have the cheap, dealer-installed roof rack put on with holes drilled in the roof. This Cruiser does not have the factory front and rear differential lockers. If you want lockers, ARB Air Lockers are better anyway. There is NO RUST on the vehicle. There are NO LEAKS under the vehicle. The engine fires right up, idles and purrs like its 1999 with 30k miles on it. No check engine lights or any warning lights, and all gauges are in the normal range. The transmission goes through the gears like a hot knife through warm butter. You literally can not even feel it shift sometimes. The Cruiser drives absolutely great. Steering, great. Brakes, great. I was driving it today when I rolled the windows up and turned the radio off. I was amazed. There were not even any squeaks or rattles that I could hear! Only wind noise and that wonderful straight 6. The engine bay is a thing of beauty. Practically spotless. Just beautiful. The undercarriage is great; like I said no rust, no leaks. See pics. The interior is consistent with the rest of the vehicle, pretty much flawless. There is slight wear to the driver seat, but much, much better than any 80 series that I have seen. There is no hole or tear in the leather, and it is only worn on the left-most side. (NOTE: The good pic of the driver seat disappeared when uploading so I posted one that I had taken with my iPhone, before I fixed the seat.) Hardly any wear on the steering wheel and no noticeable wear on the gear shift. No stains on the carpet or seats. No odors. (Uncle Bob is a doctor, no cigarette came within a mile of this thing.) 3rd Row seats were never used and like new. The 2nd row seats were hardly used and are in great condition. As stated the passenger side seat motor recently went out and he had that fixed. After I got it, the driver side seat stopped moving front to back, so I rebuilt the seat motor (which I have done before on one of these) by replacing the gears inside and it works fine now. There is a display on the center console for Sirius Satellite radio which is wired up and can be activated with a subscription. All the power windows, locks, mirrors, seats, heat, A/C, function well. Original radio works well and the power antenna goes up and down as it should. All lights, bulbs, blinkers, etc... work. Wipers, Cruise Control, etc... everything works. The left rear bumper end piece is dented in a little bit. See photo. These are plastic and can be ordered and replaced, simply bolt on. The right rear bumper end piece is just a hair out of place, just slightly tweaked. It is a fraction of an inch lower than it should be and could probably be shifted up. Most people would probably never notice it. The rear portion of the right rear fender flare is a bit out of place. One of the several fasteners holding it on is broken and the flare sits just a bit higher than it should on the front end. Hardly noticeable at all. The front left corner of the bumper is scuffed. All these imperfections are shown in the photos. I am really trying hard to mention any and all flaws to the vehicle and this is all I can come up with.
