Vehicle Detail
1991 BMW M5E34 Chassis 311 Hp265 Lb-ft155MPH14.6 sec 1/4 mile I will start off with a brief history of this car. I know two of the previous owners, both BMW nuts. On of the early owners was Gordon from Bavarian Autosport, as this car is still used in some of the catalog pictures. And the previous owner Brad C who is the master at sorting older BMW's. He is my good friend, and this car came to me as partial compensation for building him a garage. I have had it since September, and since then, I have driven it very little. The times I do drive it, I fear that I can not be responsible enough to own this type of car, it is so powerful, but so smooth you hardly know your speeding. I am in the process of starting a new business, and could use the start up capital, hence the sale. The car is sold as is. New parts during Brad's time with the car, most done at 137k, 4/2010.M steering wheelrear sway bar linksrear dog bonesdiff/tranny redline fluidbmw coolantrubber front gas linestires (Dunlop SP Sport 8000)lighted shift knobnew heater valveair filtertranny main output sealbav auto short shifterbrake fluid flush15/50 M1 syn & last changed 140352exhaust with exhaust hanger kit(OEM BMW exhaust, $1500, and sound great)Sony Xplod CD radio with ipod inputright side upper control armcenter steering track rod NOS factory head lights with bucketsHella Bulbs The car came to Brad with Bav Auto Chip. Bav Auto Plug wires .H+R Sport spring, and Bilstein Sport shocks and struts. This car is very solid, and is very fun. Their is always a down side, and I will be as forthcoming as possible. The AC does not work, the car needs a new compressor, which can be sourced off of any E34, and is not M5 specific, which is good on the wallet. Most of the body panels have been resprayed, and not to factory quality, not horrible, but any true aficionado will know.Their is a noticeable rust spot on the passenger side door sill, not cancer, but there, also a dime sized spot on driver door, both shown in pics.Rear subframe bushings are showing their age, I will include a set of new ones to freshen the rear end up.After a few weeks of sitting the car develops a temporary misfire under acceleration , it might be my damp garage. But if I don't drive the car in a few weeks during the first few minutes, under hard acceleration their is a misfire. Could be a very simple fix, or you just drive the car regularly. The two time I brought it to my mechanic the misfire could not be replicated, and if the car is driven regularly the misfire does not exist. The rain does not affect the misfire either, as I drove the 6 hour round trip to the bav auto show and shine in the rain without any hiccups. I must be as honest as possible, and do not want any surprises for the new owner.Summery: This is a very well sorted car, and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It looks awesome, and people always comment on it. The period correct Turbine wheels also set this car off as a sexy stylish machine. The cars interior is mint, I would give it a nine out of ten, it also comes with the rare rear bucket seat, yes only a 4 passenger, very desirable, Minus the cars few faults, this car is a great driver and a piece of history, it is also the last generation of the hand built M5's(it took 3 guys 2 weeks to put this car together). I will miss it, but have to move forward with my business. The only trade I will consider is a 1 ton dump truck, from apples to oranges, that's just the way life goes. This is a no reserve auction, if you bid you may win, so be prepared with a cashiers check, or cash. The car must be paid in full and picked up within seven days of auction ending. If you need it shipped I will work with you, but an unable to arrange the shipping. Good luck, and happy Bidding Thank,Morgan
