1970 Honda SL 350

This is the first year Honda offered the SL-350, which was their initial attempt at a dual purpose M/C. This bike was equipped with electric start, and was larger and heavier than the SL models in the years that followed this HO model. There were not many of these HO models produced, and from what I can find out from the VJMC site, even less have survived these past 40+ years. This particular M/C has been in my family since new. It has 9,600 miles on the odometer, (which has always worked), the tires are original, as is the seat cover, both of which should be replaced if the buyer is going to ride the bike on a regular basis. There is a small dent in the L.H. muffler, from a layover in the sandpit about 40 years ago now. Other than that dent, the bike is very straight and has not had any damage incurred during it's lifetime. I did rebuild the bike in the winter of 2000. The Motor was overhauled with new pistons/ rings/ vales/ clutch/ all seals & gaskets/ plugs/ points/ carburetors were overhauled and drive chain renewed. The bike was stripped down to the frame, and repainted, using the original colors. Since that time the bike has had very little use, aside from a few vintage rides and the occasional rip around the back roads. The bike has not been started for 3 years and has been in storage. When the bike was put into storage, I drained the fuel tank and carbs, put a bit of oil in the cylinders, and removed the battery. We are downsizing our collection of "stuff" and the SL has to go, hopefully to someone who will ride it and/ or show it off a bit. Its a nice old bike, I doubt you will find one in more original or better condition. The owners manual, service manual and parts book will be available to the succesful bidder at no additional cost. I will crate the bike for an additional $150, if necessary. The customs paper work and forms required to get this bike shipped to the USA are readily available, and it is not a difficult process. There is a clear title for the bike, so it can be licensed in any province or state by the purchaser. I do have a $2,000 reserve on this bike. I will keep it in the shed for anything less. The goal is to get enough money out of the sale of the SL to finance a paint job on another project we have in the works. Happy Bidding and I hope this little bike finds a good home.
