Toyota Tundra received the "Truck of the Year" award from Motor Trend Magazine. When Toyota decided to become a major player in the 1/2 ton truck market, they did their research first. Toyota actually intervied over 10,000 owners of Ford F150, Chevy Silverado, and Dodge Ram owners to see exactly what they loved and hated about the truck they owned. With this information in hand, Toyota Engineers designed and build the Tundra.
In this truck, you will find the instrument panel ergonomically designed. All guages are easy to read. The seats are very comfortable and recline. Even the rear seats are on tracks and slide forward and back and also recline. The tailgate has spring support for ease of operation. The door handles are wide so you can open the doors with gloves on. Keyless entry can open one or all doors. The center console can carry a laptop computer and business files.
As for performance, this truck has it. The powerful 5.7 Variable Valve Timing V8 provides 381 horse power to the six speed automatic transmission. This engineering designed into the gearing of the transmission allows the truck to be very powerful with a great deal of torque available at low speeds for hauling, and low RPM's while cruising on the highway for better fuel economy.
The steering and braking system is also outstanding. This truck has a steering radius of only 42 feet. The electric steering is fast and responsive. The brakes out perform any other manufacturer in it's class.
The front rotors are 13.5 inch vented design with a four piston caliper. This type of caliper is only seen on high performance sports cars. The rear rotors are also the largest in the industry. They are 12.5 inches in size with a two piston caliper.
Safety is a priority for Toyota. This truck is built with the Five Star Safety System standard. This system consists of ABS Brakes, Vehicle Stability Control, Brake Assist, Brake Force Distribution, and Traction Control. The Anti-Lock braking system allows you to continue to steer the vehicle in a full panic stop by pulsing the wheels during braking. The Vehicle Stability control monitors the direction of the vehicle in comparison to the steering wheel. If the vehicle begins to slide or sway, the VSC will take over and make adjustments to assist in keeping the vehicle under control. This is a great system to have when towing or driving in enclimate conditions. The Brake Force Distribution helps to apply the brakes full force in a panic stop. The Traction Control allows this vehicle to maintain traction in slipery conditions and assures that when it is in four wheel drive, that it is truly a four wheel drive vehicle. And finally, Brake Force Distribution monitors the weight distribution in the vehicle and adjusts the braking system for maximum braking when needed. all these safety items help you avoid an accident. God forbid you do have an accident, this vehicle is equipped with six air bags, two front bags, side bags, and curtain bags.
This truck was owned and driven daily to and from work all highway driving. It will be sold with a full 6 month / 6,000 drive train warranty. Additional warranty is available at Buyer's expense. Financing is also available.
