1981 VW Rabbit Deluxe Karmen addition convertible. 1st off, Ebay says this car has the 1.6L gas motor but the car actually has the 1.7L motor. I believe the car came with this motor but it possibly could be a motor swap. It has a 5 speed transmission that shift nice. Goes into gear easily and will not pop out of gear while driving. The top goes up and down nicely. The top does have a couple tears around the rear glass. It will leak a little as it is if it sits out in the rain. If you are going to keep it in a garage it is nothing to worry about. The car has good paint to be 30 years. There are spots where the clear coat is starting to peel but still looks fine because of its color. The interior is in good shape. I have boot cover and whole car cover for the car. The tape player works as well as speakers. The speedometer works but the odometer does not. Stopped at 101,xxx but I believe the car to have around 120,000. But EXACT MILEAGE IS UNKNOWN. It has been well maintained. Does leak a little oil from around the drain plug. Won't leave much more than a quarter sized spot if sitting for long periods of time. The car has fairly new struts and tires. Tires I would say are 90%. I drive this car daily to work and have never had a problem with it. It does have its little quirks but what 30 year old unrestored car doesn't? In Georgia, a car older than 1984 does not need a title. With that said, I do not have title for car. I will be selling with Bill of Sale only. It is buyers responsibility to check their state's laws on titles and bills of sale. I will not refund if a Bill of Sale will not work for your state. Please check that before bidding. All in all this is a great little car that gets around while sipping very little gas. If you are wanting to restore a car then this would be a great starting point. Very little rust and a nice straight body.
