Vehicle Detail
1966 FORD ECONOLINE PICKUP TRUCK 289 V8 AUTO TRANS Up for auction is a beautiful 1966 Ford pickup. Powered by a 289 V8 and automatic transmission. This was a professionally done resto-mod in the mid 1980s. Owned by a collector and sold as part of his estate. As you can see by the pics, the truck is in excellent shape. Black in color, nice tan interior, sharp wheels. It starts easy and sounds great. No smoke and a very strong running engine. Strong oil pressure All glass is excellent. Doors open a close like they should with weatherstripping in excellent shape. Windows roll up and down like they should. Truck bed is great with high quality thick bed liner. The body is rust free and the frame is about a clean and solid as I've seen on a '66. Steering is tight. Headlights work, tail light work. Wipers work, flashers work. The truck sat for 3 years prior to sale. During this time the radiator, master cylinder and mufflers disappeared. The radiator has been replaced with a three row aluminum, a new master cylinder installed and a pair of corvette muffles slipped on. Due to long term storage without running the carb weeps oil pan gasket drips when the truck is running. It has a heater, but will not turn on. Radio needs replacement. Horn does not work. Front brakes work, but not rear. I was told all brakes were redone. The truck will need a going over to be a reliable driver, but not much. Mainly a lot of little items need to be addressed. I think we all know how hard it is to find one this far along with a super sharp body and rock solid frame. I've seen trucks like this sell for 10-15k to collectors.
