1988 Honda Shadow

This is a 1988 Honda Shadow VLX 600. Bike was bought in 1996 with 13130 miles. It was used for a couple of years, a small wreck with the ground and pavement, and then sat in a garage till I started riding it in 2009. I've only been on it a dozen times or so, but had to do some work on it to get it running. There are a few bumps and scratches from the wreck. You can see the big ones in the pics. In the pic of the handle bars, you can see how its slightly crooked. I honestly have no idea if something is bent, or if its just twisted and simply loosening up some bolts could get it back straight. I rode it the way it is without problems. The paint is also worn under the saddle bags where they rub. Anything mechanical is just a guess, I'm not a mechanic... It seems like the carb needs to be rebuilt. If you roll on the throttle fast, it hesitates for a sec, then goes. Kind of like vrrr....burb...VRRRRRR. This has come and gone when I was riding in 09 and 10, but is back completely now (its been sitting for a year and a half). I'm guessing it got gummed up from sitting so long. The best I ever got it working was pulled it out, and hosed it with carb/choke cleaner, but didnt take it apart completely apart. Also if you rev it up, it revs down real slow. The inside of the tank is rusty. I replaced the whole petcock assembly as the tube and mesh screen inside were rotten. Also the fuel filter. This was in 2009. It does have new front and rear sprockets and a chain. This was 2010 and might have 100 miles on them. The tread on the tires is pretty good, but they are from the late 90's Oh there is a backrest for the rear seat.
